    • Logs quality start in no-decision
Carrasco did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the White Sox, allowing three runs on four hits and one walk with seven strikeouts over six innings.

Advice: Carrasco allowed a solo home run in the first inning and a two-run homer in the sixth but threw four scoreless frames in between. He registered an impressive 10 swinging strikes on 70 pitches and has logged quality starts in two of his past three outings. He still owns an uninspiring 5.21 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 61:24 K:BB through 76 innings and lines up for a home matchup against the Giants this weekend. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:13 pm
    • Chad Green narrowly escapes with save vs. Astros
Chad Green tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Tuesday against the Astos to record his third save of the season.

Advice: Green surrendered a leadoff double before striking out Joey Loperfido and Trey Cabbage before getting Jose Altuve to fly out to end the game. It was just his third save of the season, but the veteran has been tremendous with a 1.37 ERA. With Yimi García nearing his return, Green may not see many more save opportunities, but he’s worth rostering in the meantime. Rotoworld Tuesday, 8:05 pm
    • Birdsong notches first career win vs. Braves
Hayden Birdsong allowed two earned runs over five innings while striking out five to pick up his first win on Tuesday over the Braves.

Advice: Birdsong pitched a scoreless first inning but gave up back-to-back solo shots to Austin Riley and Sean Murphy in the second. Those would be the only runs allowed by Birdsong, who has now allowed five earned runs over his first 9 2/3 innings pitched on the season. The 22-year-old righty hasn’t blown away the competition in his first two career starts, but he’s given his team a chance to win in both outings despite a 1.55 WHIP. Birdsong is scheduled to make his third career start on Sunday against the Guardians. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:22 pm
    • Michal Kopech takes loss against Guardians
Michael Kopech allowed one run on one hit in 1/3 of an inning in a loss to the Guardians on Tuesday.

Advice: Kopech entered the ninth in a tie game and allowed a lead-off single to Andres Gimenez. Gimenez would later move over on a groundout and then a wild pitch allowed him to advance to third where he was driven in by a sac fly off the bat of Bo Naylor. Kopech had allowed just one run in his last six innings and wasn’t particularly bad here, but the wild pitch highlights some of the inconsistency that he brings at the end of games. • Carrasco pitches to quality start in no decision
Carlos Carrasco allowed three runs on four hits in six innings in a no-decision against the White Sox.

Advice: The veteran also struck out seven and walked one while posting a 26 percent whiff rate and 31 percent CSW. After a solo home run by Andrew Vaughn in the first inning, Carrasco was cruising until the start of the sixth when he allowed a single and a home run to Luis Robert Jr. The veteran has a 5.21 ERA on the season, and this feels a little bit like an effort fueled by a poor opponent. He should not be streamed against the Giants this weekend. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:21 pm
    • Re-evaluated in 1-to-2 weeks
Weathers (finger) will be re-evaluated in 1-to-2 weeks in hopes of being cleared to begin a throwing program at that time, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Weathers has already been shut down for nearly a month with a left index finger strain and still isn't ready to throw yet. Given how much time he's missed, it's going to take him a while to get sufficiently built back up before rejoining the Marlins' rotation. A return would appear to be several weeks away. • Ryan Weathers (finger) to be re-evaluated soon
Ryan Weathers (finger) will be re-evaluated in 1-2 weeks.

Advice: Weathers landed on the injured list back in early June with a left index finger sprain and has yet to resume throwing. The 24-year-old southpaw will require an extended rehab assignment once he ramps up his throwing program, so it’s probably unrealistic for fantasy managers to expect him back until sometime in mid-to-late August, even in a best-case scenario. • Making next start Tuesday
Birdsong is scheduled to make his next start Tuesday in Atlanta, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The banged-up Giants have only two members of their Opening Day rotation (Logan Webb and Jordan Hicks) available at the moment, so San Francisco should have a spot available for Birdsong until at least three of Kyle Harrison (ankle), Blake Snell (groin), Alex Cobb (hip), Robbie Ray (elbow) and Keaton Winn (elbow) come back from the injured list. After being expedited to the big leagues last week following just two starts at Triple-A Sacramento, Birdsong demonstrated shaky command in his MLB debut against the Cubs on Wednesday, giving up three runs on six hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. On a positive note, Birdsong induced nine swings and misses and finished with five punchouts. His long-term outlook remains promising, but Birdsong shapes up as a risky fantasy option heading into what will likely be a two-start week. After facing off against Atlanta, the 23-year-old right-hander lines up for another turn Sunday in Cleveland. Rotowire.com Monday, 12:02 pm
    • Suffers loss Sunday
Stanek (5-2) took the loss Sunday against the Twins, allowing two runs on two hits over an inning's work.

Advice: Stanek entered in the eighth with the game tied at 3-3 after the Mariners were able to knot things up in the bottom of the seventh. He picked up a quick first out but then allowed a base knock followed by a two-run homer to Trevor Larnach, which ultimately decided the game. Sunday ended an 8.2 innings scoreless streak for Stanek, which spanned 10 games. He compiled three saves, two holds and two wins while owning an 11:1 K:BB during that period. The 32-year-old has been dependable for much of the year, owning a 3.78 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 36:11 K:BB in 33.1 innings. Rotowire.com Monday, 2:54 am
