      Advice: The 26-year-old drew the start at designated hitter and reached double-digit homers for the third consecutive season with a solo shot off Austin Gomber. Contreras also collected his team-leading 20th double of the season. Overall, the Milwaukee star is now slashing .296/.355/.451 with 51 RBI and 59 runs scored across 369 plate appearances.     • MacKenzie Gore denied win after strong showing
      MacKenzie Gore allowed one run over 5 2/3 innings and struck out eight Monday against the Mets.

      Advice: Gore was at 104 pitches, so it’s kind or understandable that he was pulled in the sixth. Still, he seemed to be very much in control at that point. He’d given up just a soft single before rebounding to retire the next two batters in the sixth. The Nationals pulled him with a 2-0 lead in favor of Derek Law, and the Mets, aided by a CJ Abrams error, went on to score three runs in the frame.       Gore did not factor into the decision in Monday's 9-7 loss to the Mets, allowing one run on five hits and one walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out eight.

      Advice: The Washington southpaw created an incredible 21 whiffs to collect his eight punchouts, and he left the game with the Nationals ahead 2-0 only to watch Derek Law immediately cough up the lead. This was a bounce-back performance for Gore as he struggled in five June starts with a 5.13 ERA across 26.1 innings. The 25-year-old's season ERA now stands at 3.47 with 107:29 K:BB over 90.2 innings. He is tentatively scheduled to make his next outing against the Cardinals at home this weekend.       Judge went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in an 8-1 win over the Blue Jays on Sunday.

      Advice: Judge helped New York get off to a fast start with a 423-foot, two-run shot to center field in the first inning. He added a single later in the contest to notch his third straight multi-hit game, and the slugger has gone 7-for-12 with five RBI during that stretch.     • Gallen’s start moved up to face Dodgers
      The Diamondbacks are moving up Zac Gallen’s next start to Thursday against the Dodgers.

      Advice: The Arizona Diamondbacks want to get Gallen pitching on every fifth day until the All-Star break, which means he will now face the Dodgers instead of the Padres on Friday as was originally planned. Instead, Slade Cecconi will be moved back to take that start. It’s obviously not great news for fantasy leagues, but the Dodgers have some injuries in their lineup, and Gallen is talented enough that you’re probably starting him regardless of opponent.       Lynn (4-3) allowed two hits and a walk over six shutout frames Sunday, striking out six and earning a win over the Reds.

      Advice: Lynn faced little pushback as he sliced through the Reds' lineup. He generated a season-high 17 whiffs, including 14 with his four-seam fastball. It was his second straight win after going 0-1 in his previous five starts. Lynn dropped his season ERA to 3.59 alongside an 84:31 K:BB through 17 starts this season.       Lugo (11-2) picked up the win Sunday against Cleveland, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out 10 over six scoreless innings.

      Advice: Lugo was dominant Sunday, throwing 66 of his 93 pitches for strikes en route to 10 strikeouts. The 34-year-old logged his fourth consecutive quality start and his 14th of the season, tied for first in MLB. Over his past four starts, the right-hander has registered a robust 1.46 ERA along with a 1.01 WHIP and 30:7 K:BB over 24.2 innings.       Seth Lugo threw six shutout innings and got the win in the Royals’ 6-2 victory over the Guardians on Sunday.



      Advice: Lugo gave up four hits, walked one and struck out 10. The win was his 11th of the season. It was another excellent start for Lugo, who lowered his ERA to 2.17 on the season with the effort. The 34-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rockies on the road next weekend.
