    • Becomes free agent
The Rays released Devenski on Sunday.

Advice: Devenski was previously removed from the Rays' 40-man roster last week, and after clearing waivers, he's now free to sign with another club. The right-handed reliever posted a 6.75 ERA in 19 appearances with Tampa Bay before being designated for assignment. Rotowire.com Today, 5:57 am
    • Yonny Chirinos can’t get out of fifth inning
Yonny Chirinos allowed three earned runs across 4 1/3 innings of work on Sunday. He struck out four, walked one, and the Phillies had nine hits.

Advice: Given a large lead early, Chirinos could not get through this injury-ravaged Phillies lineup. They made lots of hard contact and ignited their huge comeback before he was chased from this game. Chirinos is unexciting filler in the Marlins’ decimated rotation. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:59 pm
    • Promoted, should pitch Sunday
Roupp (undisclosed) was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: The 25-year-old was on the injured list at Triple-A Sacramento with an unspecified injury, but he'll join the Giants after making three rehab starts in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League. Roupp has a 5.27 ERA and 12:8 K:BB across 13.2 innings for San Francisco this season. According to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, Roupp is expected to cover about three innings behind opening pitcher Spencer Bivens against the Dodgers on Sunday. • Lands on injured list
The Brewers placed Koenig on the 15-day injured list Saturday with left forearm tendinitis.

Advice: Koenig threw 1.1 scoreless innings and struck out three batters during his appearance Friday versus the Cubs, but he seems to have come away from his outing with an injury. The 30-year-old southpaw has been one of the Brewers' more surprising finds of the season, posting a 1.66 ERA and 1.00 WHIP through 38 innings. Rob Zastryzny was selected from Triple-A Nashville to replenish Milwaukee's bullpen depth. Rotowire.com Saturday, 9:09 am

    • X-rays negative
X-rays on Vasquez's right forearm came back negative after he was removed from Friday's game versus Boston, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: A 98-mph line drive off the bat of Ceddanne Rafaela struck Vasquez's arm in the fifth inning, forcing him to leave the game after four-plus innings of one-run ball. The 25-year-old said after the game that he's dealing with a bit of swelling, but he seemed optimistic about his chances to make his next start. Rotowire.com Friday, 7:59 pm
    • Randy Vásquez diagnosed with forearm contusion
Randy Vásquez was diagnosed with right forearm contusion after being hit by a line drive during Friday night’s start against the Red Sox.

Advice: Fortunately, it sounds like the 25-year-old hurler was able to avoid any serious injury after being struck by a Ceddanne Rafaela line drive to open the fifth inning on Friday. Unfortunately, his early exit from the game did cost him a victory. He should be able to make his next scheduled turn in the Padres’ rotation on Thursday against the Rangers in Texas. • Struck by comebacker, exits early
Vasquez was removed from his start Friday against the Red Sox after getting hit in the right forearm by a comebacker, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Vasquez took a 98 mph line drive off his forearm during the fifth inning of Friday's contest, and he was taken out of the game after conferring with a trainer. He'll be sent for imaging, and the Padres should have an update on the severity of his injury in the near future. The 25-year-old righty had allowed one earned run on five hits and a walk while striking out one batter over four innings before being taken out of the game. Rotowire.com Friday, 6:17 pm
