Irvin has logged a quality start in five of his last six starts and holds a 2.06 ERA with 37 strikeouts across 35.0 innings during that stretch. The third baseman is up to seven long balls, 18 RBI, 19 runs scored, six doubles and no stolen bases while slashing .289/.344/.526 over 125 plate appearances.       Mark Vientos smashed his seventh home run of the season on Sunday night as the Mets took care of business against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

      Advice: The 24-year-old third baseman demolished a 451-foot (109.3 mph EV) solo shot off of Tyson Miller in the eighth inning that extended the Mets’ lead to 5-2.     • Jake Irvin lights out against Rockies
      Jake Irvin allowed one run on three hits in six innings in a no-decision against the Rockies on Sunday.

      Advice: Irvin also struck out 10 and walked just one. His only blemish was a solo home run to Michael Toglia in the second inning. It was a tremendous effort for the 27-year-old in Coors Field, posting a 39 percent whiff rate and 32 percent CSW. Irvin has let his curveball lead of late, which is a great decision since he commands the pitch well and he can also miss bats with it. He likely will remain a high-end streamer rather than a must-roster player, but that can still be valuable with offense down around the league. He should be started next week against the Rays.       Jimenez experienced hamstring soreness in his return to the lineup in Sunday's 11-2 loss to the Tigers, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. He started at designated hitter and went 1-for-4 with a run scored.

      Advice: Jimenez made his return from the 10-day injured list Sunday after missing a month with a left hamstring strain, and he now appears to be dealing with a potential setback. The White Sox are set to launch a three-game series at home versus the Dodgers on Monday, and the 27-year-old's status is worth monitoring leading up the 8:10 p.m. ET opening pitch.       Eloy Jimenez said after Sunday’s loss to the Tigers that he experienced renewed soreness in his left hamstring during Sunday’s game.

      Advice: The 27-year-old slugger was activated from the injured list prior to Sunday’s game and hadn’t had any soreness in his hamstring while he was rehabbing in Arizona. It’s unclear if this is going to cause him to miss any additional time, or if it’s something that the oft-injured Jimenez will be able to play through.
