• Goes on bereavement list
Bauers was placed on the bereavement list by the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: Bauers will be away, by rule, for at least the three-game weekend series in St. Louis and potentially as many as seven games. Rhys Hoskins will be at first base Friday for the Brewers. Rotowire.com 5 minutes ago

  • Not in Friday's lineup
Martin is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Tigers.

Advice: Martin is in the midst of a modest five-game hit streak but will head to the bench for Friday's contest. Trevor Larnach will take over in left field and bat cleanup in the series opener versus Detroit. Rotowire.com 10 minutes ago

  • Rafael Devers (knee) remains out of Red Sox lineup
Rafael Devers (knee) remains out of the Red Sox’ starting lineup for Friday night’s series opener against the Pirates.

Advice: Devers was diagnosed with a bone bruise on his left knee on Thursday after undergoing a precautionary MRI exam. He’s expected to need a couple of additional days off, but isn’t likely to land on the injured list at this time. Bobby Dalbec will start in his place at the hot corner on Friday and will bat seventh against Pirates’ right-hander Quinn Priester. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago
  • Brewers place Jake Bauers on bereavement list
Brewers placed 1B/OF Jake Bauers on the bereavement list.

Advice: The versatile 28-year-old will be away from the club for a couple of days. Andruw Monasterio was recalled from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move to provide depth off of the Brewers’ bench for their weekend series against the Cardinals. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago

  • Brewers recall Andruw Monasterio from Triple-A
Brewers recalled INF Andrew Monasterio from Triple-A Nashville.

Advice: With Jake Bauers landing on the bereavement list on Friday, the Brewers needed some extra depth on their bench for the weekend, so Monasterio will rejoin the Brewers after being optioned out to Triple-A Nashville on Sunday. Monasterio is 0-for-7 with a pair of runs scored in his limited action with the Brewers this season. Rotoworld 19 minutes ago

  • Undergoes knee surgery
Delay recently underwent surgery to repair the meniscus in his right knee, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Delay is expected to be ready to resume baseball activities in six weeks and it figures to be several weeks after that before he might be ready to return to the Pirates. Pittsburgh is currently using Henry Davis and Joey Bart as its catching duo, but Yasmani Grandal (foot) recently began a rehab assignment. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

  • Hit in loss
Lopez went 1-for-2 in a 2-1 win over Kansas City on Wednesday.

Advice: It's been a difficult start to the season for the 29-year-old, as Lopez's slash line sits at .167/.255/.167. While he does have two hits over the last five games, the infielder has yet to tally an extra-base hit and he's been a liability on the base paths during the rare occasion that he's gotten on base, having been thrown out four times this season. The six-year veteran signed a one-year, $4.3 million contract with the White Sox this offseason, but given the team's dreary record, it wouldn't be surprising to see Lopez get ample opportunities to find his way out of this rut. • RBI double in win
Flores went 1-for-1 with a RBI double in the 5-0 win over the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Advice: Flores entered in the eighth inning with the bases loaded and immediately smacked a two-run double, which accounted for only his third extra-base hit of the new campaign. While the veteran has been on the short side of the platoon with LaMonte Wade at first base, the Giants have found a way to get Flores' bat in the lineup situationally throughout most of the season. The 32-year-old has yet to tally a home run in the 2024 campaign, but given his slugging percentage (.311) is woefully below his career norms, the power could be returning in short order. • RBI in loss
Farmer went 1-for-3 with an RBI in the 4-2 loss to the Orioles on Wednesday.

Advice: Farmer has played in six games since Carlos Correa injured his oblique bouncing between third and shortstop over the past week. While the Twins have said the All-Star's injury is relatively minor, his return status remains unclear, which should open up opportunities for Farmer to get more at-bats. A lifetime .252 hitter, there's bound to be a bit of positive regression to the mean with the veteran averaging .097 across 38 at-bats this season. Rotowire.com 34 minutes ago
