    • Tyler Alexander obliterated in loss to Royals
Tyler Alexander was obliterated in Friday night’s loss to the Royals, giving up eight runs on 11 hits over his five innings of work.

Advice: Alexander struck out four batters on the night while issuing one free pass. He came on after Shawn Armstrong worked two scoreless frames as an opener on Friday, and it didn’t take him long to surrender the 1-0 lead that he was handed. Alexander couldn’t keep the ball in the yard, serving up a three-run homer to Michael Massey in the fifth inning and a solo blast to Bobby Witt Jr. in the seventh. He now holds an uninspiring 5.92 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and a 41/13 K/BB ratio over 52 innings on the season. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago
    • Colt Keith blasts first MLB homer to lead Tigers
Colt Keith went 2-for-3 and swatted the first home run of his big league career on Friday night, propelling the Tigers to a 6-2 victory over the Blue Jays.

Advice: The 22-year-old second baseman gave Alek Manoah a battle in the second inning, ultimately blasting a 3-2 changeup for a 400-foot (105.2 mph EV) solo shot to right center. He was also hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the fourth inning to drive in a run. He has been sizzling at the plate over the last two weeks and is now hitting .236/.297/.292 with one homer and 16 RBI on the season. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

    • Kerry Carpenter goes deep as Tigers crush Jays
Kerry Carpenter clobbered his seventh home run of the season on Friday night, helping to power the Tigers to a lopsided victory over the visiting Blue Jays.

Advice: Carpenter chased Blue Jays’ starter Alek Manoah from the ballgame with his 410-foot (106.3 mph EV) two-run blast in the fifth inning that increased the Tigers’ advantage to 6-0. He also drew a walk in the fourth inning and scored on a ground ball off the bat of Zach McKinstry. Carpenter finished the night 1-for-3 and is now hitting .277/.333/.553 with his seven long balls and 27 RBI. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago
    • Mark Canha scores twice in victory over Blue Jays
Mark Canha singled, walked and scored a pair of runs as the Tigers crushed the Blue Jays on Friday evening in Motown.

Advice: Canha reached on an infield single in the fourth inning then scored as Colt Keith was plunked by an 0-2 pitch with the bases loaded. He also worked a two-out walk off of Alek Manoah in the fifth inning and rode home on Kerry Carpenter’s two-run blast. On the season, he’s now hitting .226/.349/.384 to go along with six homers and 20 RBI. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

    • Kenta Maeda fires five scoreless in win over Jays
Kenta Maeda looked sharp in his return from the injured list on Friday, scattering four hits over five scoreless innings in a victory over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Maeda struck out one batter on the evening and didn’t allow a base on balls. Only one of the four hits that he allowed went for extra bases — a two-out double by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in the opening inning. The 36-year-old hurler got six swings and misses on 74 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 27 percent. He’ll look to further improve upon his 5.80 ERA and 1.32 WHIP when he does battle against the Red Sox in Boston on Thursday. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago
    • Bo Bichette collects two hits in loss to Tigers
Bo Bichette went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles as the Blue Jays fell to the Tigers at Comerica Park.

Advice: The Jays weren’t able to get anything going against Kenta Maeda in the ballgame and didn’t push a run across until there were two outs in the ninth inning. The 26-year-old shortstop’s bat has perked up in recent weeks and he’s now hitting .249/.301/.359 with three homers, 20 RBI and four stolen bases on the year. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago
    • Alek Manoah hit hard in loss to Tigers on Friday
Alek Manoah was hit hard in Friday’s loss to the Tigers, giving up six runs (four earned) on five hits over his 4 2/3 innings of work.

Advice: The 26-year-old right-hander punched out four batters on the night while issuing a pair of free passes. He served up a pair of homers in the ballgame — a solo shot to Colt Keith in the second inning and a two-run blast to Kerry Carpenter as the final batter that he faced in the fifth inning. His defense also did him no favors in this one. Manoah got 13 swings and misses on 97 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 27 percent. He’ll look to bounce back as he carries a 3.97 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and a 23/8 K/BB ratio into Wednesday’s start against the White Sox in Chicago. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago
    • José Urquidy exits rehab start with apparent injury
José Urquidy was removed from Friday’s minor league rehab start at Triple-A Sugar Land with an apparent injury.

Advice: No word yet on exactly what occurred, but Urquidy attempted to throw a warm-up pitch and something didn’t feel right, so he lobbed it in and walked off the field with the team trainer. The right-hander had thrown just 56 pitches before exiting. Look for the Astros to provide an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago
    • MacKenzie Gore wins, stellar across seven innings
MacKenzie Gore pitched seven strong innings allowing one earned run and four hits in the Nationals 6-1 win over the Mariners on Friday. He struck out eight, walked one, and earned the win.

Advice: This is it. The MacKenzie Gore breakout is finally here. His command was impeccable in this start living on the edges and giving Seattle very few opportunities to do any damage. Their only run was J.P. Crawford’s lead-off home run on Gore’s second pitch of the game. He never found himself in a 3-0 or 3-1 count and it’s been a pleasure to watch his confidence grow with each start. His ERA sank to 3.04 and there’s no reason to think he’ll slow down any time soon.
