• David Hamilton starts at SS again
David Hamilton is starting at shortstop for the Red Sox on Thursday against the Tigers.

Advice: Hamilton has now started five of the last six games in the middle infield for Boston as the Red Sox have transitioned Ceddanne Rafaela back to the outfield. Hamilton struggled defensively in his first chance in 2024 after being thrust into a starting role following the injury to Trevor Story. Red Sox manager Alex Cora said he intentionally kept Hamilton on the MLB roster to just allow him to take a breath, and Hamilton has rewarded his confidence by hitting .311/.380/.489 in 17 games in May with one home run, eight runs scored, and six steals. The 26-year-old has game-changing speed, so if he’s going to play regularly, he’s worth a gamble in fantasy leagues. Rotoworld Thursday, 12:56 pm

  • Edouard Julien is sitting on Thursday
Edouard Julien, Max Kepler, Trevor Larnach, and Alex Kirilloff are not in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Royals.

Advice: Normally, this would be a signal that the Twins are facing a left-handed starter, but they’re facing Brady Singer. This could have something to do with it being a day game after a night game, but Brady Singer does have reverse splits over his career. Perhaps the Twins think stacking righties against him will give them a better chance to win. However, Julien not being in the lineup is also noteworthy because he has not been performing of late, slashing .186/.278/.200 in 24 games in May with a 36.7 percent strikeout rate. He’s not a player you have to hold in fantasy leagues. Rotoworld Thursday, 6:58 am
  • Resting in series finale
Julien is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals.

Advice: With Thursday's contest being a day game after a night game, manager Rocco Baldelli will give rest to several key regulars. Along with Julien, Alex Kirilloff, Max Kepler and Trevor Larnach will rest as the Twins open up room in the lineup for reserves Kyle Farmer, Carlos Santana, Manuel Margot and Christian Vazquez. • Four hits in twin bill
Gonzales went 4-for-9 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and two RBI across both games of Wednesday's doubleheader split with the Tigers.

Advice: The Pirates were blanked in the opener and managed only three hits in total off Tarik Skubal and the Detroit bullpen, but Gonzales had one of them. The 25-year-old second baseman really came to life in the second contest, as he launched a solo shot off Keider Montero in the fourth inning and was a key part of a 10-2 rout by Pittsburgh. Gonzales has hit safely in 13 of the last 15 games as he solidifies his spot in the Bucs' lineup, batting .328 (19-for-58) over that stretch with three homers, a steal, nine runs and 14 RBI. • Taking seat against lefty
Lux is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Advice: The Dodgers are facing a left-handed starting pitcher (David Peterson) for the second consecutive game, so the lefty-hitting Lux will once again be on the bench after he sat out the second leg of Tuesday's doubleheader. Miguel Rojas will step in at shortstop, with Mookie Betts playing second base for Lux, who went 1-for-5 with two strikeouts in the Dodgers' 5-2 extra-inning win in the opening game of the twin bill Tuesday. • Leads with three RBI
Schneider went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one walk, three RBI and one run in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Schneider batted leadoff for the 10th time in 11 games and provided a spark atop the lineup as Toronto took home its second win in a row. Overall, Schneider has posted an .819 OPS in 13 starts as a leadoff man this season, and so long as he continues to excel in that capacity, he should stick as the Blue Jays' table setter even as George Springer is beginning to emerge from his season-long slumber. • Nabs stolen base Tuesday
Rojas went 2-for-4 with an RBI double, a steal and two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Astros.

Advice: Rojas singled, stole second and scored off the bat of Julio Rodriguez in the first inning to give Seattle an early lead. The Mariners would then rally in the eighth, beginning with an RBI double from Rojas, who then came around to score once more thanks to Rodriguez. Tuesday was Rojas' first multi-hit game and first stolen base since May 10, while his late RBI knock was just his third since May 7. He's cooled off considerably this month, hitting .152 since May 11. For the year, Rojas is slashing .287/.350/.427 with 12 extra-base hits, 10 RBI, 16 runs, five steals and a 31:14 K:BB in 157 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 4:34 am

  • Davis Schneider swats two doubles, drives in three
Davis Schneider went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI in Tuesday’s win over the White Sox.

Advice: Schneider doubled to kick off the game, but his second double, which came in the second inning, drove in two runs to give the Blue Jays an early 3-0 lead. He would add another RBI in the sixth inning on a sacrifice fly to score George Springer, upping his RBI total to 28 on the season. Schneider is hitting a solid .255 on the year and is slashing .250/.368/.487 this month. While he’s not hitting for an overly high average, he’s offered decent power and an ability to drive in runs. • Officially activated
The Yankees reinstated LeMahieu (foot) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: A fracture of LeMahieu's right foot has kept him on the injured list all season, but he will return to make his season debut Tuesday while starting at third base and batting ninth. The 35-year-old veteran will act as New York's primary third baseman going forward, though he's expected to receive a handful of off days initially as the Yankees attempt to ease him back into action.
