    • Brenton Doyle homers twice to lead Rockies
Brenton Doyle homered twice, doubled and walked Monday as the Rockies edged the Brewers 8-7 in 10 innings.

Advice: Doyle’s second homer tied the game in the bottom of the eighth. The center fielder was dropped from second to seventh in the Rockies lineup before the game, presumably because he’d hit .200/.225/.292 in his previous 16 games. The two homers gave him nine or the year, and he also swiped his 20th base. We’re not big believers in Doyle’s offense from an OPS standpoint, but with Coors Field helping him along, he likely will have lasting value in mixed leagues. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:19 pm

    • Monster performance in win
Doyle went 3-for-4 with two homers, a steal, three RBI and three runs scored in Monday's 8-7 win over the Brewers.

Advice: Doyle opened the game's scoring when he blasted a mammoth 445-foot, two-run homer off Bryse Wilson in the second. The Colorado center fielder then cracked a solo shot in the eighth to tie the game at 7-7, giving him his first multi-homer game this season. Doyle also added his 20th stolen base of the season when he nabbed second in the fourth inning. After a rough .203 batting average in his rookie year, the 26-year-old sophomore has become a steady producer in 2024, now hitting .260 with nine homers, 48 runs scored and 30 RBI. • Brenton Doyle dropped to seventh in Rockies lineup
Brenton Doyle has been dropped to seventh in the Rockies lineup on Monday.

Advice: Doyle last hit lower than second on June 10, but this seems appropriate. Doyle has batted just .200/.225/.292 since that date. The Rockies have moved everyone who was batting below Doyle up one spot tonight, with Ezequiel Tovar reclaiming the second spot. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:41 pm

    • Returns off bench Sunday
Drury (illness) went 0-for-2 with a strikeout in a loss to Detroit on Sunday.

Advice: Drury sat out nine straight games due to an illness before returning to action Sunday. He didn't start but entered as a pinch hitter in the sixth inning and remained in the contest for another at-bat as the team's DH. Per Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com, Drury is expected to return to the starting lineup Tuesday against the Athletics. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:06 am

    • Nabs fourth steal Sunday
Butler went 1-for-2 with a stolen base in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Advice: Butler snapped a brief 0-for-6 skid that had encompassed his last three games, and the steal was the first of the rookie's current big-league stint. Despite Sunday's modest success, Butler hasn't been much better at the plate than he was during his initial tenure with the Athletics from Opening Day through May 13 -- he's carrying a .179 average, .422 OPS and 34.5 percent strikeout rate across the 29 plate appearances he's logged since returning June 18. • Shohei Ohtani goes 0-for-5 in loss to Giants
Shohei Ohtani went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts on Sunday in the Dodgers’ blowout loss to the Giants.

Advice: We’re fairly confident he’s going to be just fine moving forward. There will be days like this, even for generational superstar like Ohtani, who launched his 26th round-tripper of the season during Saturday’s extra-inning win over the division-rival Giants. The 29-year-old slugger has gone deep nine times over his last 15 contests. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:37 pm

    • Taking seat Sunday
Schuemann is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Schuemann has gone 5-for-41 (.122 average) with a 32.1 percent strikeout rate in his past 13 games and will sit for Sunday's series finale in Arizona. Aledmys Diaz will take over at shortstop and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Sunday, 12:50 pm

    • Remaining out of lineup
Drury (illness) is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Drury hasn't seen the field since June 21 due to an upper-respiratory illness, and he won't return to the lineup for Sunday's series finale versus Detroit. According to Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com, Drury is avialable off the bench Sunday and should return to the starting nine Tuesday in Oakland. Luis Rengifo will again man the keystone while Miguel Sano starts at third base. Rotowire.com Sunday, 12:26 pm

    • Brandon Drury (illness) out again Sunday vs. DET
Brandon Drury (illness) is not in the starting lineup against the Tigers on Sunday.

Advice: That makes 10 straight games where Drury has missed due to illness. The 31-year-old will remain on the bench with Miguel Sano at the hot corner and Luis Rengifo handling third base. Rotoworld Sunday, 12:17 pm
