    • German Marquez to be ready after All-Star break
Rockies’ manager Bud Black told reporters on Wednesday that German Marquez (elbow) is expected to make two more minor league rehab starts at Double-A Hartford.

Advice: If all goes well with those two outings, it sounds like the 29-year-old right-hander could be ready to join the Rockies’ rotation immediately following the All-Star break. Marquez — who is recovering from Tommy John surgery — has posted a 9.58 ERA, 2.03 WHIP and a 14/4 K/BB ratio over 10 1/3 innings through his first five rehab outings. • Making next rehab start Thursday
Ray (elbow) will make his next rehab start Thursday with Triple-A Sacramento, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The left-hander covered 3.2 frames in his previous outing for Sacramento on Friday, and he'll continue building up his workload with the Triple-A affiliate. Ray made four rehab starts in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League and is now scheduled for a third appearance at Triple-A as he makes his way back from Tommy John surgery. • Robbie Ray (elbow) to make rehab start Thursday
Robbie Ray (elbow) will make a minor league rehab start on Thursday for Triple-A Sacramento.

Advice: Ray is progressing towards a midseason return to San Francisco’s starting rotation mix as he completes his rehabilitation from last year’s Tommy John surgery. The 32-year-old southpaw is still capable of missing bats at a high level and is worthy of a speculative stash for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues. Rotoworld Tuesday, 2:10 pm

    • Moving up to Double-A
Astros manager Joe Espada said on Tuesday in an interview with SportsTalk 790 that Garcia's (elbow) next rehab start will come Thursday at Double-A Corpus Christi, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Garcia threw one inning with the Astros' Florida Complex League affiliate this past Friday in his first rehab appearance. It's not clear what his targeted pitch count is for Thursday's outing, but Garcia will need a handful of rehab starts before becoming an option to join the Astros' rotation. He's making his way back from Tommy John surgery. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:47 am

    • Luis Garcia (elbow) making rehab start Thursday
Luis Garcia (elbow) will make a rehab start Thursday for Double-A Corpus Christi.

Advice: Garcia will be making his second rehab appearance after throwing one inning Friday in the Florida Complex League. The 27-year-old right-hander has missed all of 2024 while recovering from Tommy John surgery, and he’ll likely need to make a few more starts before having a chance to join Houston’s rotation after the All-Star break; likely closer to August than the middle of July. • Bryse Wilson tagged for five runs by Rockies
Bryse Wilson gave up five runs in four innings Monday versus the Rockies.

Advice: The Brewers used an opener in front of Wilson tonight, and Rob Zastryzny worked a scoreless first before exiting. Wilson, though, didn’t benefit from coming in to start the second. His last five outings have seen him give up seven, zero, five, zero and five runs, so maybe he’s due for a good one next time out. Rotoworld Monday, 9:19 pm

    • Yields five runs in bulk role
Wilson did not factor into the decision in Monday's 8-7 loss to the Rockies, allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out three.

Advice: After pitching to a 5.19 ERA across 26 innings in June, Wilson continued his run of poor performance in Coors Field. The Milwaukee right-hander allowed five or more runs for the third time in his last five appearances. He now sports a 4.27 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and a 62:28 K:BB over 78 innings this season. Things aren't going to get easier for Wilson, as he's currently scheduled to make his next outing versus the Dodgers in Los Angeles. It is currently unknown whether he will follow an opener again. • Poised for season debut next week
Marquez (elbow) will make one more rehab start before rejoining the Rockies' rotation next week, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Advice: Marquez holds a 9.58 ERA and 14:4 K:BB over 10.1 innings in his first five rehab starts and in his last outing with Triple-A Albuquerque retired just two batters before getting pulled. His highest pitch count during his rehab assignment has been 52 (on June 16) and he threw just 33 pitches in his last start. Marquez is working his way back from Tommy John surgery. • Slated for bulk relief
Wilson will be used as a bulk reliever in Monday's game versus the Rockies, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The Brewers often use an opener ahead of Wilson, and Monday will be no different with reliever Rob Zastryzny slated to take the ball first. Wilson tossed six shutout frames in bulk relief his last time out Tuesday, picking up a win against the Rangers. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:25 am
