    • Takes third loss
Myers (5-3) took the loss against the Rockies on Thursday, allowing four runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out five over six innings.

Advice: Myers allowed multiple baserunners in each of the first two frames, leading to three runs coming home early for Colorado. He then cruised through the next two innings before surrendering a solo shot to Jake Cave in the sixth, marking the second game in a row in which the 25-year-old has given up a home run. Myers also allowed a season-high eight hits on the night en route to being handed his first loss since May 4 against the Cubs. On a positive note, he's now gone at least six innings in five of his last six starts. Rotowire.com Today, 6:39 am
    • Takes fifth loss
Morton (5-5) allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out five over 5.1 innings to take the loss versus the Giants on Thursday.

Advice: Morton continues to alternated between good and bad starts, with this one being not particularly sharp. He threw 54 of 94 pitches for strikes and served up home runs to Heliot Ramos and Matt Chapman in the fourth inning. This was the first time all year Morton has been taken deep multiple times in a start. He's been generally effective with a 3.96 ERA despite a 1.25 WHIP and 92:38 K:BB over 91 innings across 16 starts. The veteran right-hander is projected to make his next start at Arizona. He held the Rockies scoreless from there until Jake Cave homered in the sixth inning. Myers has completed six innings in five of his last six starts and has a respectable 3.52 ERA on the season. The 25-year-old right-hander is set to face the Pirates at home next week.

    • Nearing throwing program
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Thursday that Yamamoto (shoulder) has been working with a plyo ball and could resume throwing soon, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Yamamoto has made progress in his rehab and was described as pain-free Wednesday. Assuming that remains the case, he's expected to start playing catch again before the All-Star break, likely meaning he won't return before August. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:34 pm
    • Sitting Thursday
Garcia isn't in the Royals' lineup Thursday against the Rays.

Advice: Garcia will get a day to rest Thursday after going 1-for-7 with a walk and a run scored through the first two games of the series. His absence will move Michael Massey into second base while Vinnie Pasquantino serves as the DH, putting Salvador Perez at first with Freddy Fermin behind the plate. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:12 pm

    • Luis Rengifo undergoing MRI on right wrist
Luis Rengifo is out of the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Athletics with right wrist soreness.

Advice: X-rays came back negative for any fractures after Rengifo left Wednesday’s game against the Athletics with right hand soreness following a ninth-inning swing. However, he’s slated to undergo an MRI on Friday in Chicago to determine the extent of the injury, specifically whether he’s dealing with any structural damage. There should be an update on his status in the coming days, but fantasy managers shouldn’t expect him back until the weekend, even if he checks out completely fine. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:02 pm

    • Executes five-out save
McArthur picked up his 15th save of the season in Wednesday's win over the Rays, allowing a hit and no walks while striking out one in 1.2 innings.

Advice: McArthur entered in the eighth with two runners on and one out with the Rays already having scored a run in the inning. He was able to navigate through the traffic and then pitched around a leadoff single in the ninth to lock down the save. McArthur has been lights-out of late, throwing eight scoreless innings over his last eight appearances since June 13, and he's converted each of his last four save chances.
