    • Logan Webb shuts out Mets for eight in win
Logan Webb scattered six hits over eight scoreless innings Tuesday in the Giants’ 5-1 takedown of the Mets.

Advice: Webb was a groundball machine while allowing four singles and two doubles tonight. He walked one and struck out four. That the Giants have Nick Ahmed at short and Matt Chapman at third is definitely paying dividends this season, particularly when the team’s ace is on the mound. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:02 pm

    • Evan Carter goes 0-for-4, fans three times
Evan Carter struck out three times as part of an 0-for-4 night against the Mariners on Tuesday.

Advice: Carter just isn’t hitting the ball as hard right now as he did in his debut last September. He’s at .200/.307//387 in 88 plate appearances, and Statcast thinks his slugging percentage should be lower, what with his 32% hard-hit rate. He still seems like a sure bet as a useful mixed-league outfielder, but his fantasy upside is in question. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:15 pm

    • Seventh homer, 12th steal in win
De La Cruz went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer, a stolen base and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 8-1 win over the Phillies.

Advice: De La Cruz has been on a tear, going 7-for-18 with three homers and six steals in his last seven games. The 22-year-old shortstop has looked like a budding star over the first month of the season, slashing .295/.402/.641 with seven homers, 22 runs scored, 17 RBI with a league-leading 12 stolen bases through 23 games. • Phillips gets eventful save against WAS
Evan Phillips threw a scoreless ninth inning to secure a 4-1 win over the Nationals, despite allowing three walks and one hit.

Advice: Yes, Phillips allowed four baserunners and no runs. With runners on first and second, CJ Abrams laced a single to right field, but the Nationals third base coach put up a late stop sign that saw Luis Garcia Jr. get caught in a rundown between third and home. After Garcia was tagged out, Phillips walked Eddie Rosario to load the bases but struck out Jesse Winker to end the game. It took 32 pitches, but Phillips secured his sixth save of the year and lowered his ERA to 0.96. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:36 pm
    • Ohtani clobbers HR in win over WAS
Shohei Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in a win over the Nationals.

Advice: The home run was an absolute bomb that was 118.7 mph off the bat and traveled 450 feet. He also had a 109.7 mph flyout earlier in the game that had a .340 expected batting average. Ohtani is now hitting .364/.430/.677 with six home runs, 14 RBI, and five steals on the season. Yeah. he’s very good. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:33 pm

    • Elly has HR and SB in win over Phillies
Elly De La Cruz went 1-for-3 with a home run and a stolen base in an 8-1 win over the Phillies.

Advice: It’s been quite the beginning of the season for Elly, who is now slashing .295/.402/.641 with seven home runs and 12 steals. Honestly, the on-base percentage may be the most impressive number. After struggling with his plate discipline last year, the 22-year-old has made incredible strides in 2024 with 13 walks in 23 games. He will likely always run some high strikeout rates, but he is consistently putting himself in a position to do damage with better swing decisions and fantasy managers are reaping the benefits. If the plate discipline remains, there is no reason to think he’s not a first-round fantasy pick. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:41 pm

    • Heston Kjerstad batting eighth in season debut
Heston Kjerstad is in right field and batting eighth on Tuesday in his season debut against the Angels.

Advice: It’s an extremely encouraging sign that the Orioles are throwing Kjerstad right into the fire following his early-season promotion instead of having him languish on the bench. The 25-year-old slugger tore the cover off the ball this season for Triple-A Norfolk, posting an astronomical 1.176 OPS with 10 homers, 30 RBI and one steal in 21 games. He projects as a potential four-category impact fantasy contributor, if he’s given an everyday opportunity in Baltimore’s loaded lineup. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:34 pm
    • Promotion made official
The Orioles recalled Kjerstad from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.

Advice: Kjerstad had gotten off to an unbelievable start at Norfolk this season, slashing .349/.431/.744 with 10 home runs over 21 contests. It could be tricky finding consistent playing time for Kjerstad given the Orioles' bevy of options, but the left-handed batter will certainly be in the mix for starts between designated hitter, the corner outfield spots and first base against right-handed pitching. • Orioles recall Heston Kjerstad
Oreioles recalled OF Heston Kjerstad from Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: It’s official. Kjerstad will join the O’s active roster after the team placed Austin Hays on the injured list. The 25-year-old outfielder has excelled at the Triple-A level this season where he’s posted a .349 average and 1.176 OPS along with 10 round trippers. If he’s still available on waivers, he’s definitely worth a stash as the young prospects in Baltimore, minus Jackson Holliday, have gotten off to hot starts in the majors.
