    • X-rays on hand negative
X-rays on Altuve's left hand came back negative following his removal from Friday's game versus Minnesota, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

Advice: Altuve made an early exit from Friday's game in the eighth inning after taking a pitch off his hand, but he managed to escape the incident with only a bruise. It's possible he sits out a game or two in order to give his hand a chance to properly recover, but an extended absence isn't likely. The 34-year-old is slashing .387/.457/.516 with a homer and five RBI over his last seven games. Rotowire.com Today, 8:52 pm

    • Jose Altuve diagnosed with left hand contusion
The Astros got good news after Friday night’s victory over the Twins as the X-rays on the injured left hand of Jose Altuve came back negative for any fractures.

Advice: Altuve was diagnosed with a left hand contusion and is considered day-to-day. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him get a day off on Saturday to be on the safe side, but the 34-year-old infielder shouldn’t be looking at any sort of extended absence. Rotoworld Today, 8:50 pm

    • Blows save, earns win
Helsley (3-3) earned the win and blew a save against the Nationals on Friday, allowing one unearned run on two hits and a walk with no strikeouts over two innings.

Advice: Helsley was summoned to protect a 6-5 lead in the tenth inning but allowed the automatic runner to score. He was brought back out with another one-run lead in the eleventh and was able to secure the win in his first multi-inning effort of the season. On the year, the closer leads the league with 31 saves and owns a 2.41 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 47:17 K:BB over 41 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 8:12 pm
    • Masataka Yoshida hits game-tying homer in ninth
Masataka Yoshida went 1-for-4 with a dramatic two-run home run in a 5-3 win for the Red Sox over the Yankees on Friday.

Advice: This was a great moment for Yoshida in what’s been a disastrous season. Down to his final strike, he took Clay Holmes deep to push this game to extra innings where the Red Sox would eventually win it. It was Yoshida’s first homer since April 20th as a thumb strain kept him out for about six weeks. Still, he’s started against every right-handed pitcher since returning from the IL and is 8-for-22 over his last five games. Rotoworld Today, 8:09 pm
    • Jose Altuve (hand) leaves game after hit by pitch
Jose Altuve was removed from Friday night’s battle against the Twins after being hit by a pitch on his left hand.

Advice: Altuve was clipped by a 94.3 mph sinker from Josh Winder. The 34-year-old superstar second baseman was grimacing and looked to be in obvious pain on the field. He’ll head for X-rays to see if he’s dealing with any fractures. The Astros should have an update on his status after that imaging is complete. In the meantime, all fantasy managers can do is wait and hope for the best. Rotoworld Today, 8:00 pm

    • Exits after HBP
Altuve was removed from Friday's game against the Twins after getting by a pitch, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: Altuve took a 94-mph sinker off his left hand/wrist during the eighth inning of Friday's contest and was taken out of the game after conferring with a trainer. He'll presumably undergo imaging in the clubhouse, and the Astros should offer an update on his status after the game. Rotowire.com Today, 7:40 pm

    • Ryan Helsley blows save in 10th, grabs win in 11th
Ryan Helsey blew the save Friday against the Nationals despite not allowing an earned run. He also gave up two hits, an intentional walk, and didn’t strike a batter out across two innings.

Advice: A shortcoming of the Ghost Runner rule: Helsley entered a one-run game in the 10th inning, allowed the automatic runner to score from second base, and got tagged with a blown save. He did well to get out of a jam with runners on second and third with one out when Juan Yepez lined into an inning ending double play. He hung on for a 1-2-3 inning in the 11th inning and still managed to snag the win. Rotoworld Today, 7:26 pm
    • Rejoins big-league club
The Dodgers recalled Outman from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Advice: With Jason Heyward (knee) headed for the injured list, Outman will get the call back to Los Angeles in order to replenish the Dodgers' outfield depth. Since being demoted to Triple-A in May, the 27-year-old has slashed .285/.396/.556 with 10 homers and 22 RBI in 182 plate appearances. He isn't likely to see regular playing time while Heyward is sidelined, but there's a chance Outman makes an occasional start against right-handed pitchers in order to give one of the usual starters a breather. • Dodgers recall James Outman from Triple-A OKC
Dodgers recalled OF James Outman from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: The 27-year-old outfielder will replace the injured Jason Heyward (knee) on the Dodgers’ active roster. Outman really struggled during his time with the Dodgers to start the season (slashing .147/.250/.266 in 109 at-bats), but we’ve seen what he’s capable of during his breakout 2023 season. If he sees regular action against right-handed pitching while Heyward is shelved, he could be worth a look in deeper mixed leagues. Rotoworld Today, 4:16 pm
