    • Battling sore shoulder
Toro has been dealing with shoulder soreness ever since Sunday's doubleheader against the Twins, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Toro's shoulder injury helps explain why he will be missing his second consecutive game Wednesday versus the Royals. The Athletics are still optimistic that the 27-year-old infielder will be able to avoid a trip to the injured list, but he will see a doctor Wednesday in order to determine the best way to approach his injury. Tyler Nevin figures to operate as Oakland's main third baseman while Toro recovers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:17 pm

    • Dispatched to Nashville
The Brewers optioned Dunn to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Advice: Playing time has been hard to come across recently for Dunn, and the emergence of Joey Ortiz hasn't helped. The 26-year-old Dunn has slashed .221/.282/.316 through 104 plate appearances in the big leagues this year and will now head back to the minors to get back on track. Tyler Black was recalled from Nashville in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:46 pm

    • Recalled to Milwaukee
The Brewers recalled Black from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Advice: Black played in seven games for the Brewers earlier in the season but was sent back to Nashville on May 8 after going just 5-for-22 (.227) at the plate. Since returning to Triple-A, the 23-year-old infielder has slashed .255/.354/.473 with five homers, 23 RBI and eight stolen bases. He doesn't have a clear path to playing time due to Rhys Hoskins and Joey Ortiz being comfortably locked into everyday roles at first and third base, respectively, but Black's speed makes him a viable pinch runner, and he may be used occasionally against right-handers to give one of the usual starters a day off. Oliver Dunn was optioned to Nashville in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:37 pm

    • Sitting second straight
Toro isn't in the Athletics' lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Although Toro has slashed .309/.338/.456 against left-handed pitchers this season, the Athletics will give Tyler Nevin another start at third base versus southpaw Cole Ragans. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:48 pm

    • Drawing fifth straight start
Schneemann will start at shortstop and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: Schneemann will make his fifth straight start and will occupy his third different position over that span. The utility player has already been used at six different positions since being called up at the beginning of the month and is maintaining a 1.115 OPS over his first 33 big-league plate appearances. • Homers, drives in three
Crawford went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer, an RBI double and a pair of walks in Tuesday's 8-5 victory over the Guardians.

Advice: Crawford got the Mariners on the board with a two-run blast off Triston McKenzie in the third inning before adding a third RBI with a double in the fourth. Crawford had gone just 1-for-25 with no extra-base hits in seven games prior to Tuesday. Overall, he's slashing just .208/.305/.375 with seven homers, 21 RBI and 29 runs scored through 220 plate appearances this year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:18 am

    • Provides offense in win
Espinal started at third base and went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Pittsburgh.

Advice: Espinal provided all the offense needed with a two-run homer in the fifth inning. He was making his first start in seven games and has just 18 at-bats this month; however, he could see action in the immediate future. Jeimer Candelario, who started at first base, was removed from Tuesday's contest due to tendinitis. Candelario has been the team's primary third baseman and may be held out of Wednesday's series finale in Pittsburgh. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:42 am

    • J.P. Crawford has two hits, HR in win
J.P. Crawford went 2-for-3 with two walks and three RBI in a win over the Guardians on Tuesday.

Advice: Crawford had two of the five hardest-hit balls of the game with a 106.2 mph double and a 105 mph home run, which was his seventh of the season to go along with 21 RBI. Crawford remains in the leadoff spot for the Mariners but had just one hit in his last seven games coming into today. He’ll remain a fixture in the lineup and has added legitimate 15-20 home run pop over the last two years, which keeps him on the deep league fantasy radar. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:33 pm

    • Santiago Espinal homers in win over Pirates
Santiago Espinal went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a win over the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: Espinal’s home run accounted for the only runs the Reds would score, or need to score, on Tuesday. It was Espinal’s first start in over a week and just his fourth home run of the season to go along with a .204 average. He remains off fantasy radars, but it was a good day for him today.
