    David Hamilton went 3-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base as the Red Sox triumphed over the Tigers on Friday evening.

    Advice: All three of Hamilton’s hits in the ballgame were singles. He reached on a one-out single off of Joey Wentz in the sixth inning, swiped second base and then rode home on Ceddanne Rafaela’s second long ball of the night. With his three-hit attack.     Brandon Crawford blasted his first home run as a member of the Cardinals on Friday night, but it wasn’t enough to lead his club past the Phillies in Philadelphia.

    Nick Ahmed (wrist) will begin his minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday.

    Advice: Ahmed has been sidelined since April 27 when he was struck on the wrist by a 108-mph line drive. Marco Luciano had been functioning as the team’s regular shortstop in his absence, but he landed on the injured list himself on Friday, so the team is now rolling with a combination of Brett Wisely and Casey Schmitt until Ahmed is ready to return.
