    • Cody Bellinger goes deep in victory over D’Backs
Cody Bellinger blasted a go-ahead homer in the sixth inning on Wednesday, powering the Cubs to a 5-3 victory over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The 28-year-old slugger broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth inning when he crushed a 396-foot (104.6 mph EV) solo shot off of Diamondbacks’ starter Brandon Pfaadt. He also singled in the eighth inning and came around to score on a run-scoring knock off the bat of Michael Busch. Bellinger finished the day 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and is now hitting .200/.296/.371 with three long balls and 12 RBI on the season. He’s still looking for his first stolen base though, after nabbing 20 bags during the 2023 season. Rotoworld Today, 3:37 pm

    • Takes loss, blown save vs. Royals
Kopech (0-2) blew a save and ultimately took the loss in Wednesday's opening game against Kansas City, allowing two runs on two hits while striking out one.

Advice: Called upon to protect a one-run lead in the eighth inning, Kopech gave up a one-out single to Bobby Witt before Salvador Perez launched a two-run homer, sticking Kopech with his first blown save and the loss. The right-hander has already earned a pair of multi-inning saves this season, so it's likely this was Chicago's intention again Wednesday. Overall, Kopech is 2-for-3 in save chances this year with a 3.48 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB through his first 10.1 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 2:59 pm

    • In Wednesday's lineup at DH
Manager Alex Cora said Devers (knee) will serve as the Red Sox's designated hitter in Wednesday's contest versus the Guardians, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: Devers was removed from Tuesday's 10-7 loss to Cleveland due to left knee soreness, but he's feeling better than expected a day later and will be available Wednesday in a non-defensive role. He should be ready to return to third base in a day or two. Rotowire.com Today, 2:07 pm

    • Rafael Devers (knee) serving as DH on Wednesday
Rafael Devers (knee) returned to the Red Sox’ starting lineup for Wednesday night’s battle against the Guardians.

Advice: The 27-year-old superstar was pulled from Tuesday’s game due to left knee discomfort, but it appears to have been only a minor issue. On the season, Devers is hitting .205/.352/.409 with a pair of homers and five RBI through his first 54 plate appearances across 12 games. Rotoworld Today, 2:05 pm

    • Could be ready to play Wednesday
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said in an interview on WEEI that Devers (knee) is feeling better and could be ready to play Wednesday versus the Guardians, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Devers had to depart Tuesday's game against Cleveland with left knee discomfort, but it sounds like he's avoided a serious injury. The Red Sox should reveal their lineup shortly, so it will be known soon enough whether Devers is fully cleared. Rotowire.com Today, 12:34 pm

    • Gets aboard four times
Kwan went 3-for-5 with a walk and two runs scored in Tuesday's 10-7 extra-innings win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Kwan is batting .400 (14-for-35) during his active eight-game hitting streak. He continues to put the ball in play with great success, batting .372 over 17 contests this season. He's added two home runs, five RBI, 18 runs scored and a stolen base. Kwan can still chip in a bit more with speed, but he's doing everything else right from atop the Guardians' order. • Resting Wednesday
Campusano is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Advice: Campusano is receiving some routine maintenance for a day game after a night game after he caught all nine innings of Tuesday's 6-3 win. Kyle Higashioka will replace Campusano behind the plate Wednesday. Rotowire.com Today, 8:13 am
    • Out for second straight game
Cronenworth (calf) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Advice: Cronenworth will get a second straight game off to heal up from a tight calf that forced him out of Monday's 7-3 win in the series opener. The Padres are hoping that a pair of days off plus Thursday's team off day will provide sufficient time for Cronenworth to recover before the start of this weekend's three-game series with Toronto. Matthew Batten will spell Cronenworth at first base Wednesday. Rotowire.com Today, 8:11 am

    • Stays hot at plate
Hoerner went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and a run batted in during Tuesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Hoerner corralled his fourth career four-hit game Tuesday and after scoring twice, he ranks second on the Cubs for most runs scored in 2024 (12). During his last eight appearances, Hoerner is batting 11-for-27 (.407), and he boasts an impressive .403 on-base percentage on the season. Rotowire.com Today, 7:22 am
