    • Victor Caratini homers in loss to Twins
Victor Caratini, starting behind the plate for Houston for the third time in four games, hit his fourth homer Sunday against the Twins.

Advice: He nearly had a second; his 401-foot fly to right-center in the seventh would have been a homer in 20 ballparks, according to Statcast. We still like Yainer Díaz, but Caratini is certainly one of the game’s top-30 catchers and really should have landed a starting job as a free agent over the winter. He’ll probably continue to cut into Díaz’s playing time in at least the short-term, making Díaz expendable in one-catcher shallow leagues. Rotoworld 46 minutes ago

    • Will Brennan goes 2-for-3 in loss
Will Brennan went 2-for-3 on Sunday in a loss to the Nationals. He also walked and scored a run.

Advice: While unspectacular, Brennan has found himself in the Guardians’ lineup nearly every game this season. He’s already matched his home run total from 2023 with five, but doesn’t offer much to fantasy managers besides consistent at-bats. Rotoworld 56 minutes ago

    • Ildermaro Vargas with two hits, stolen base
Ildermaro Vargas went 2-for-3 scoring a run, driving one in, and stealing a base Sunday in a win over the Guardians.

Advice: Vargas drew his second straight spot-start after CJ Abrams tweaked his shoulder on Friday and had a great all-around game. It’s unlikely his role grows unless Abrams needs a spell on the IL. Rotoworld 57 minutes ago

    • Carlos Carrasco allows five runs in four innings
Carlos Carrasco pitched five innings on Sunday against the Nationals. He struck out five, walked one, and allowed five earned runs in a loss.

Advice: The Nationals jumped on Carrasco for a four-run second inning and did not look back. Carrasco still missed plenty of bats - 13 total whiffs, six on his changeup alone - despite being hit hard. He is not a viable streaming option even in the deepest of leagues. • Heading to bench Sunday
Bouchard is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Though he's on the bench for the second time in the series, Bouchard has been deployed as the Rockies' primary option in left field following Jordan Beck's (hand) placement on the injured list last Sunday. After getting called up from Triple-A Albuquerque the same day Beck was deactivated, Bouchard started in five of the ensuing six games, going 2-for-14 with a double, three walks, four runs, three RBI and two stolen bases. Hunter Goodman will spell Bouchard in left field Sunday. Rotowire.com Today, 12:54 pm
    • Starting, but playing time falling
Goodman will start in left field and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Goodman concluded last weekend's series versus the Phillies by making his sixth start in eight games, but his playing time has fallen off over the past week. Before drawing back into the lineup Sunday, Goodman started just once in the Rockies' preceding five games. With Kris Bryant settling in primarily at designated hitter and Sean Bouchard and Charlie Blackmon typically serving as Colorado's starters in the corner outfield, Goodman has found himself as the odd man out of late. • A’s reinstate Medina (knee) off 60-day IL
Athletics activated RHP Luis Medina off the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Medina is back and will start Sunday’s game against Atlanta. The right-hander has missed all of 2024 while recovering from an MCL sprain in his right knee. Medina has flashed upside in his time with the A’s, but Atlanta is a tough task for a season debut. A wait-and-see approach is recommended. Rotoworld Today, 9:04 am

    • Carlos Carrasco off injured list for start vs. Nats
Guardians activated RHP Carlos Carrasco off the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Carrasco is back to start against the Nationals on Sunday. The right-hander ended up missing exactly 10 days while dealing with neck spasms. The 37-year-old isn’t the same pitcher he was a few years ago, but does offer some fantasy appeal as a streaming option against weaker lineups like the Nationals. Rotoworld Today, 9:01 am

    • Activated for Sunday's start
The Guardians reinstated Carrasco (neck) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Sunday against the Nationals.

Advice: Cleveland made room for Carrasco on the 26-man active roster by placing right-handed reliever Eli Morgan (elbow) on the 15-day injured list. Carrasco ended up spending the minimum amount of time on the shelf due to acute neck spasms, which he experienced coming out of his most recent start May 15. Though he's not expected to face any major workload restrictions as he steps back into the Cleveland rotation Sunday, Carrasco is tough to trust for fantasy purposes after he delivered a 5.16 ERA and 1.46 WHIP over his first nine starts of the season.
