    • Sitting Sunday
Jansen is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: Alejandro Kirk will take over behind the plate after Jansen started the first two games of the series. Jansen enjoyed a hot month of May, but his bat has gone cold to begin June; he's just 5-for-35 with two extra-base hits (both doubles) in 11 games so far this month. • Set to lose work to Marsh
Dahl will start in left field and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Orioles.

Advice: Following his June 3 call-up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley, Dahl made six starts in left field and went 5-for-23 with two home runs and two doubles. His time as a regular in the Philadelphia lineup is likely over after Brandon Marsh returned from the 10-day injured list Saturday, but the Phillies have room for both Marsh and Dahl in the outfield Sunday while center fielder Johan Rojas gets the afternoon off. • Clubs three-run homer
Sosa went 3-for-5 in Saturday's win over Arizona with a double and a three-run home run.

Advice: Sosa singled in his third trip to the plate and was later thrown out at home on a fielder's choice play. However, he would come right back with a two-out, three-run home run in the following inning to increase the White Sox's lead to five runs while also adding a double in the ninth. It marked the third baseman's first three-hit performance of the season and his fifth multi-hit effort this month, where he's now batting .333 with two homers and seven RBI. • Continues hot stretch Saturday
Moniak went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 4-3 win against the Giants.

Advice: Moniak produced the Angels' first run with a solo shot to center field in the second inning. Though he's still posting an ugly .194/.241/.300 slash line on the season, the outfielder has been heating up of late. Moniak has hit safely in seven straight games, batting .391 (9-for-23) with four extra-base hits, six RBI, four runs and two stolen bases while starting in center field in all but one contest during that stretch. • Heading to bench Sunday
Rojas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.

Advice: Rojas will take a seat for the second time in the series, hitting the bench while Brandon Marsh -- who returned from the injured list Saturday -- covers center field in his stead. Though Marsh will likely see most of his reps in left field moving forward, his return could cost Rojas more time if he continues to languish at the plate and the Phillies want to open up more at-bats for David Dahl, who had served as the primary replacement in left field for Marsh. • Losing out on DH starts
Carpenter is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Carpenter finds himself on the bench for the fifth game in a row, with St. Louis having faced three lefties and two righties during that stretch. Though he appeared headed for a regular role at DH versus righties after Lars Nootbaar (oblique) was placed on the injured list May 31, Carpenter seems to have fallen out of favor after mustering a .130/.200/.261 slash line through his first eight games of June. The Cardinals may just prefer to rotate a number of regulars at the DH spot rather than settling on a primary option. Rotowire.com Today, 7:52 am
    • Lenyn Sosa homers, drives in three in blowout win
Lenyn Sosa went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer to help the White Sox to a 9-2 victory over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Advice: Sosa nearly doubled the lead for the White Sox with a three-run homer to make it 7-2 in the seventh. The 24-year-old also doubled and singled. There have been some flashes for Sosa thus far in 2024 — albeit inconsistent ones — and the three-hit game improves his slash to .250/.291/.392. He remains much more a long-term option than a quality one for the remainder of this campaign. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:08 pm

    • Starting rehab assignment
Polanco (hamstring) is playing in a rehab game Saturday at High-A Everett, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Advice: Polanco will remain at Everett for a few games before continuing his rehab at Triple-A Tacoma. The second baseman has been ramping up over the past week and is feeling good enough to begin playing games. Polanco is on track for a late-June return after straining his right hamstring May 26. • Jorge Polanco (hamstring) begins rehab assignment
Jorge Polanco (hamstring) will begin a minor league rehab assignment at High-A Everett on Saturday.

Advice: The 30-year-old second baseman is only expected to need a couple of games to get his timing back before he’s cleared to return to the Mariners’ lineup. Expect him back early next week, which will severely impact the playing time for Ryan Bliss, who has been filling in at second base over the past few weeks. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:30 pm
