    Daulton Varsho went 1-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored, two RBI, and two walks against the White Sox on Wednesday.

    Advice: After drawing a walk in the first inning, Varsho brought two runs in to score on a triple in the second. After walking once again in the fourth, he crossed home plate on a base hit by Bo Bichette.   • Bryce Miller allows three home runs in loss
    Bryce Miller allowed five earned runs on five hits, including three homers, across six innings in a loss to the Yankees on Wednesday. He struck out four and walked none.

    Advice: Aaron Judge and Juan Soto jumped all over Miller in this one accounting for all of his earned runs with three combined homers. Miller was visibly frustrated as the pitches they hit out weren’t even bad: Soto took two sinkers on the edge to left field and Judge golfed a low and away slider into the short porch.   • Justin Steele surrenders five runs to Braves in loss
    Justin Steele allowed five runs with five strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings in a loss to the Braves on Wednesday.

    Advice: Steele had retired the first six batters before Michael Harris II led off the third inning with a base hit. Adam Duvall followed with a two-run homer to put the Braves on the board. Steele pitched into the seventh, leaving at 93 pitches with a run in, two runners on, and one out. Both inherited runners would come in to score. He struck out five on the day.   • Bobby Witt Jr. plates two in victory over Tigers
    Bobby Witt Jr. went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI on Wednesday, leading the Royals to an 8-3 victory over the Tigers.

    Advice: Witt did his damage in the late stages of the contest, tacking on a pair of insurance runs with a two-run double in the seventh inning.   • Nabs win in 10th
    Bednar (3-3) picked up the win Tuesday, striking out one in a perfect 10th inning during a 7-6 victory over the Giants.

    Advice: After the Pirates rallied for four runs in the ninth, Bednar got the call for the top of the 10th and set down three straight pinch hitters in Mike Yastrzemski, LaMonte Wade and Patrick Bailey. The right-hander then got rewarded when Nick Gonzales walked it off by singling on the first pitch he saw in the bottom of the frame. Bednar has turned things around following a bumpy first month of the season, and over 10 appearances in May he's posted a 2.89 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 7:3 K:BB through 9.1 innings while converting all five of his save chances and chipping in two wins.     Estevez (0-3) took the loss against the Astros on Tuesday after allowing an unearned run on a hit and a walk while managing to record one out.

    Advice: Estevez had no room for error after the Angels failed to score in the top of the 10th and was stuck with facing the heart of the Astros lineup. Yordan Alvarez was intentionally walked to start the inning, and then Alex Bregman was retired before giving up the game-winning hit to Jeremy Pena. Estevez has now pitched on back-to-back days and in three of the last four and likely will have the day off Wednesday. He now owns a 5.06 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 17:3 K:BB in 16 innings.     Carlos Estévez dropped to 0-3 after allowing the automatic runner to score in the 10th against the Astros on Tuesday.

    Advice: Estévez had no cushion after the Angels failed to score in the top of the inning, and he was stuck facing the heart of the Astros order with Kyle Tucker on second. The decision was made to walk Yordan Alvarez to start the inning. Estevez then retired Alex Bregman before giving up a game-winning hit to Jeremy Peña. We’re not at all impressed by the job that Estévez is going, but this one doesn’t reflect badly on him.     Witt went 3-for-4 with two home runs, six RBI, one stolen base and three runs scored in Tuesday's 10-3 win over the Tigers.

    Advice: Witt has six extra-base hits over his last five games, going 8-for-20 (.400) in that span. He hadn't hit a homer since May 8, but he made up for it with a three-run blast in the second inning and a solo shot in the sixth. Witt also had an RBI single and a sacrifice fly in the contest. The star shortstop is slashing .304/.362/.546 with seven homers, 31 RBI, 45 runs scored, 16 steals, 14 doubles and three triples over 50 contests, a prominent display of his versatile skill set.     Harper went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Rangers.

    Advice: Harper led off the fourth inning with a double before coming around to score on an Alec Bohm single, giving the Phillies a 2-1 lead. Harper would then extend the lead to 3-1 in the fourth with a 422-foot solo blast off Jacob Latz, his 11th long ball of the year. After a sluggish start to the year, the 31-year-old Harper has been on fire in May, batting .359 with five home runs, 18 RBI and a 1.111 OPS in 17 games.
