• Slated for rehab start Tuesday
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Saturday that Mata (shoulder) felt good after his rehab start Thursday, and the right-hander will start again for Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: In his first rehab outing for Triple-A Worcester on Thursday, Mata allowed two runs on two hits and one walk while striking out two over 2.2 frames. He opened the season on the injured list with a right hamstring strain, but he has been dealing with lat and shoulder soreness since May. Mata is out of minor-league options, and the 25-year-old right-hander is expected to work as a reliever out of Boston's bullpen once his rehab program is complete. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

  • Oneil Cruz absent from Saturday’s lineup vs. Braves
Oneil Cruz is not in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Braves.

Advice: Despite the presence of lefty Max Fried on the mound for Atlanta in this one, this might be a mental break more than anything for Cruz, who is batting .143 (4-for-28) with two homers and one steal over his last seven games. He’s been mired in an extended funk the past few weeks, hitting .195 (23-for-118) with just four homers and two steals over his last 30 contests. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago

  • In Saturday's lineup
Ortiz (neck) will start at third base and bat leadoff during Saturday's game versus the Cubs.

Advice: Ortiz made an early exit from Wednesday's game versus the Rangers and sat out Friday's series opener due to neck problems, but he's feeling well enough to play Saturday. The 25-year-old third baseman has found a good amount of success at the plate recently, going 5-for-14 with a solo home run over his last five games. Rotowire.com 21 minutes ago

  • Out of lineup Saturday
McCormick is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets.

Advice: McCormick went 0-for-1 with one walk and one strikeout before being pinch hit by Jon Singleton in the sixth inning of Friday's 7-2 loss to New York. Diamondbacks activated RHP Zac Gallen from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Gallen finds himself the recipient of a tasty matchup on Saturday afternoon against the rebuilding Athletics following a one-month absence due to a Grade 1 right hamstring strain. The 28-year-old upper-echelon fantasy contributor holds a strong 3.12 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 60/15 K/BB ratio across 57 2/3 innings (11 starts) this season. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago

Loperfido is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets.

With Loperfido beginning Saturday's contest in the dugout, Cesar Salazar will start behind home plate, Yainer Diaz will serve as the designated hitter and Yordan Alvarez will shift to left field against Mets right-hander Tylor Megill.
