  • Rollins has a productive game vs. former team
Jimmy Rollins knocked in the game-winning hit against his former team, going 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI and a pair of runs scored in Monday's win over the Phillies.

Advice: With the game knotted at 7-7 in the seventh inning, Rollins drove a two-run single to left-center. He later scored on Joc Pederson's double. The veteran shortstop has not been productive in his first year with the Dodgers, batting .212/.266/.324 with seven home runs and 26 RBI. Even his speed has waned, as he's been successful in only six of 13 stolen base attempts. Rotoworld.com

  • Gonzalez homers in three-hit effort vs. Tribe
Marwin Gonzalez went 3-for-5 with an RBI single and a solo home run in Monday's win over the Indians.

Advice: Gonzalez knocked in the fourth and final run in the first inning against Carlos Carrasco. He added a solo home run in the seventh inning against reliever Jeff Manship. Gonzalez hasn't been much to write home about at the plate this year, hitting .256/.280/.422 with six home runs and 20 RBI. Rotoworld.com

Yunel Escobar had to exit Monday's game versus the Reds with left hamstring tightness.

Danny Espinosa homered in a 2-for-4 effort Monday as the Nationals lost to the Reds.

Advice: Espinosa knotted the game up at two apiece with a solo shot to right-center in the sixth inning against Anthony DeSclafani. The homer marks Espinosa's first extra-base hit of July. He's hitting .262/.343/.443 with nine home runs and 25 RBI on the year. Rotoworld.com

  • Suarez homers late to send Reds over the Nats
Eugenio Suarez hit a solo home run in the eighth inning to break a tie and ultimately send the Reds to a win over the Nationals on Monday.

Advice: Suarez, in a 3-for-4 effort, took reliever Casey Janssen out to left field to break a 2-2 tie in the top of the eighth inning. He has done a commendable job filling in for Zack Cozart at shortstop, batting .329/.372/.493 with three home runs, 13 RBI, and three stolen bases since June 11. Rotoworld.com

  • Corey Seager mashes eighth homer for OKC
Dodgers SS prospect Corey Seager launched his eighth homer for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday.

Advice: That gives him 13 blasts across two minor league levels this season. With Byron Buxton and Kris Bryant both in the bigs, Seager might be the most intriguing prospect left in the minor leagues. He's hit just .265 since June 1 but is still batting .306 for the year with 44 RBI. Even when the hits aren't falling, the 21-year-old doesn't have to worry about making contact. He's struck out just 43 times in 307 at-bats (14 percent). At this point, it would be an upset if Seager doesn't make his Dodgers debut in 2015. Rotoworld.com

Joe Maddon didn't seem worried when asked about the 22-year-old, though, saying "I think he looks good at the plate" and professing confidence that Russell will snap out of the slump soon enough. • Brandon Crawford goes deep in loss to Nats
Brandon Crawford swatted his 12th home run of the season in a losing effort against the Nationals on Sunday Night.

Advice: The solo blast off Nats starter Jordan Zimmerman produced the extent of the Giants offense on the night, and was Crawford's lone hit in four at-bats. He has already bettered his previous career best in home runs (10 in 2015) and is well on his way to a career year in his age-28 season. The slick-fielding shortstop is slashing .265/.339/.473 with the aforementioned 12 long balls and 49 RBI. Rotoworld.com

  • Tulowitzki crushes three-run homer in first
Troy Tulowitzki hit a three-run homer in the first inning and went 2-for-5 with two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Tulowitzki's three-run bomb in the first inning was his ninth homer of the season. He's been his typically brilliant self this season, slashing .321/.358/.489. While the power's down from some of his best seasons, Tulo's been healthy to this point, which is what matters most for the oft-injured star. Management has stressed that the shortstop won't be traded, but expect his name to at least surface in rumors over the next three weeks, even if he doesn't ultimately change uniforms. Rotoworld.com

  • Flores stays hot with four hits, three RBI
Wilmer Flores posted his third straight game with three-plus hits in Sunday's 8-0 win over the Dodgers, finishing 4-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI.

Advice: The way he's going, Flores is probably dreading the All-Star Break. He hit an RBI single in the first inning against Mets starter Mike Bolsinger, then followed it up with a run-scoring infield single in the fourth and an RBI double in the eighth. Flores is 11 for his last 16 and has recorded three or more hits in each of his last three games. Overall, he's hitting .258/.289/.412 with 10 homers, 38 RBI and 31 runs scored. Rotoworld.com

  • Hechavarria singles in loss to Cubs
Adeiny Hechavarria went 1-for-4 with a strikeout in Sunday's loss to the Cubs.

Advice: Nobody on the Marlins (five total hits, all singles, no runs) did anything offensively, so Hechavarria shouldn't feel too bad here. He's currently posting a .288/.325/.390 triple-slash with four homers, 33 RBI, 36 runs scored and three steals. Almost half of his counting production came in April, when he scored 16 runs and drove in 16. The numbers have clearly leveled off since that fantastic start. Rotoworld.com

  • Hernandez steals 2 bases, extends hit streak
Cesar Hernandez went 3-for-4 with a walk and two stolen bases as the Phillies won in 10 innings against the Braves on Sunday.

Advice: Hernandez is on a 10-game hitting streak now, with six of those games featuring multiple hits. He singled in the 10th inning to help the Phillies break a scoreless tie. The pair of stolen bases brings him up to 11 in 14 attempts on the season. There's no way his .299/.385/.385 line is sustainable as he has a .556 BABIP since June 22, but he'll get playing time and stolen base opportunities while he's hot so he has fantasy utility for the time being. • Sano doubles in run in loss to Royals
Miguel Sano went 2-for-3 with an RBI double and a walk in Sunday's loss to the Royals.

Advice: Santana's double in the second inning scored Trevor Plouffe and put the Twins out to a 1-0 lead. The two-bagger was his second of the season, as was the RBI. Since being called up on July 2, the 22-year-old has collected a hit in all four games and is 6-for-15. He hit .274/.374/.544 with 15 homers and 48 RBI over 66 games at Double-A prior to ascending to the majors. Elvis Andrus went hitless in a fourth straight game Saturday, dropping his average to .237.

Advice: Andrus seemed to be heating up last week, but it proved to be a mirage. It'd be one thing if he were still the excellent defensive shortstop he was a couple of years ago, but since he's not, he's a definite problem for the Rangers right now. Rotoworld.com

  • Flores singles three times in loss to Dodgers
Wilmer Flores went 3-for-4 with an RBI single in Saturday's loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Flores knocked in a run with a single in the eighth inning. He's been absolutely sizzling this holiday weekend, with seven hits in his last 11 at-bats and back-to-back three-hit games. His recent hot stretch is not indicative of how he's been hitting all season, as he's slashing .248/.280/.398 with 10 homers and 35 RBI. • Cliff Pennington comes up big as Arizona wins
Cliff Pennington delivered a game-tying single in the sixth and a game-ending sac fly in the 10th as the Diamondbacks topped the Rockies 4-3 on Friday.

Advice: Pennington remains a fine utilityman, but the Diamondbacks haven't gotten a ton of use from him this year with Nick Ahmed playing well at short and Aaron Hill acting as the primary fallback at second and third. Carlos Correa went 3-for-6 with a solo home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 12-8, 10-inning win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Correa's homer off Craig Breslow in the eighth inning was the rookie phenom's sixth of the season and his RBI single in the 10th snapped an 8-8 tie. The 20-year-old shortstop has lived up to the hype since his call-up and is currently slashing .300/.320/.570 with six homers and 17 RBI. • Hernandez to get a chance to stick at 2B?
Phillies interim manager Pete Mackanin said Tuesday that he "would like to think that Cesar (Hernandez) has proven that he deserves a chance to be the everyday second baseman."

Advice: Hernandez, 25, entered Tuesday batting .277/.365/.365 on the season and .328/.394/.406 in June. Chase Utley, meanwhile, is on the disabled list with an ankle injury and sports an ugly .179/.257/.275 line this season. It's hard to believe the Phils would bench Utley even given his struggles, and Mackanin did note that he didn't "want to get ahead of myself." However, if Hernandez keeps performing, it's possible. Hernandez is batting .277/.365/.365 with 25 runs scored, 16 RBI, and seven stolen bases and is now getting regular at-bats while Chase Utley is sidelined. It's not known yet when Utley returns, so those in daily leagues might find utility in Hernandez as a cheap source of stolen bases. Rotoworld.com

  • Bogaerts knocks in 2 runs, extends hit streak
Xander Bogaerts proved to be the deciding factor as the Red Sox took down the Blue Jays on Monday, delivering a two-run double.

Advice: Bogaerts broke a scoreless tie in the third inning with a double, his only hit in four at-bats. It proved to be the deciding factor in a two-run, low-scoring victory. The shortstop is on a six game hitting streak. Bogaerts, on the year, is hitting .294/.327/.409 with three home runs, 33 RBI, and four stolen bases. Rotoworld.com

  • Jed Lowrie (thumb) swinging fungo bat
Jed Lowrie (thumb) has progressed to swinging a fungo bat.

Advice: Lowrie had been swinging a wiffle ball bat. The infielder is two months removed from surgery to repair a torn thumb ligament and remains a few weeks away from a return. Rotoworld.com

  • Wilmer Flores officially moving to second base
The Mets plan to use Wilmer Flores at second base when Daniel Murphy returns from the disabled list.

Advice: Flores had been splitting time with Ruben Tejada at shortstop. Now he'll move to second with Murphy taking over at third base. Murphy could even see time at first when Lucas Duda needs a day off. Light-hitting second baseman Dilson Herrera appears to be the odd man out. Rotoworld.com

  • Hernandez's four-hit day contributes to a win
Cesar Hernandez singled four times in as many at-bats, helping the Phillies in a win over the Nationals in the back end of Sunday's doubleheader.

Advice: It's the second four-hit game of Hernandez's career, with the other occuring on September 28, 2013. The Phillies, despite scoring eight runs, only brought him home once, at the end of their four-run second inning. Hernandez has been hitting well as of late, logging multi-hit efforts in three of his last five games. With Chase Utley on the shelf, he should be a regular in the lineup. He's hitting .271/.361/.361 in 163 plate appearances. Rotoworld.com

  • Matt Duffy homers, triples in win
Matt Duffy went 3-for-4 with a homer, a triple, a double and three runs scored Sunday against the Rockies.

Advice: Duffy missed a cycle by a triple on Saturday. Today, he missed it by the single. He's hit .385 with four homers in 10 games against the Rockies this season and .285 with four homers in 54 games against everyone else. It's hard to imagine him remaining useful in mixed leagues now that the Giants are done with the Rockies until September. Still, he just loves defying expectations. Rotoworld.com

  • Yunel Escobar (hand) returns for Game 2
Yunel Escobar (hand) returned to the Nationals starting lineup for the second game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Phillies.

Advice: Escobar was removed from Friday's game after being hit on the hand by a pitch. While not all at the same time, the Nationals had Escobar, Denard Span and Bryce Harper return to game action on Sunday, and the lineup should look much healthier overall in the coming week. Rotoworld.com

  • Correa has two hits, scores twice vs. Yanks
Carlos Correa went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in a win over the Yankees on Sunday.

Advice: Correa twice doubled off Yankees starter Michael Pineda, but the first one was a lazy fly ball that fell between Garrett Jones and Brett Gardner. Gardner proceeded to boot the ball, allowing Correa to round the bases and score. Correa scored another run on an Evan Gattis triple later in the game. The shortstop is as advertised through his first 20 games, hitting .314/.337/.593 with 15 RBI and 13 runs scored. Rotoworld.com

  • Yunel Escobar (hand) held out again
Yunel Escobar (hand) remained out of the Nationals' lineup for the first game of Sunday's doubleheader versus the Phillies.

Advice: Escobar was hit on the hand by a pitch on Friday. There's no word on whether he might have a shot to return for the second game Sunday. Danny Espinosa is at third base in the first contest, with Dan Uggla handling second. Rotoworld.com

  • Correa has three hits, homer in loss to Yanks
Carlos Correa went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Saturday's loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Correa hit one of the Astros' three homers against Masahiro Tanaka on the afternoon. The homer, a two-run shot, was Correa's fifth in 19 games since being promoted. The phenom hasn't looked at all out of place in the majors, hitting .301/.326/.566 with 15 RBI, 11 runs scored and four steals. Rotoworld.com

  • Duffy has three hits, homer in win over Rox
Matt Duffy finished 3-for-4 with a home run and three runs scored as the Giants came back to best the Rockies 7-5 on Saturday.

Advice: Duffy had an RBI groundout in the third inning before smacking a solo homer in the fifth. He also singled and doubled in the win. Duffy now has seven homers and a .294/.342/.458 line and 36 RBI in 63 games. He's been a starter for most of the year and has crept into mixed-league relevancy with his strong hitting in recent months. Rotoworld.com

  • Turner hits 11th home run against Marlins
Justin Turner hit his 11th home run of the season in Saturday's loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Turner took Marlins starter Tom Koehler deep in the first inning to give the Dodgers an early lead. He finished 2-for-4 with a single to go along with the homer. It has been a legitimate breakout year for the 30-year-old, who is hitting .320/.392/.584 with 36 RBI and 30 runs scored in 66 games. Rotoworld.com

  • Yunel Escobar not in Nats lineup Saturday
Yunel Escobar (hand) is not in the Nationals starting lineup on Saturday.

Advice: Escobar was hit in the hand by a pitch during Friday's game. While X-rays came back negative, he's still sore and will require an extra day of rest. Look for the infielder to return to the lineup on Sunday. Rotoworld.com
