    • Stays hot in win
Steer went 2-for-5 with a double, a two-run homer and two runs scored in Thursday's win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Steer hit a leadoff double in his second at-bat before coming around to score Cincinnati's third run of the contest and then added a two-run shot in the following frame to extend the team's lead to five runs. The outfielder has now recorded multiple hits in three of his last four games, tallying six RBI over that stretch. He's now batting .286 in June with four homers, 16 RBI and 11 runs scored. • Season-high six walks in win
Abbott (7-6) picked up the win over the Cardinals on Thursday, allowing two runs on two hits and six walks over five innings while striking out two.

Advice: The only runs charged to Abbott on the night came off a two-run homer from Nolan Arenado in the bottom of the third, as the lefty managed to pitch his way out of trouble the rest of the time despite issuing a season-high six free passes. Abbott has now won four of his last five starts, though he finishes the month of June with 15 walks, compared to just six in May. On the positive side, he's also gone at least five innings in 11 consecutive starts and hasn't given up more than three runs in five straight. Rotowire.com 9 minutes ago
    • Disastrous outing in loss
Mikolas (6-7) was hit with the loss against the Reds on Thursday, allowing 10 runs (nine earned) on 12 hits and one walk over 4.1 inning. He struck out one.

Advice: Things got ugly in a hurry for Mikolas as the veteran gave up runs in each of the first five innings before finally being relieved by John King with one out in the fifth. The nine earned runs allowed easily marked a season high for the right-hander, as did the 12 hits he surrendered. Mikolas had gone at least six innings in six consecutive starts coming in, allowing three or fewer runs in five of those outings. Thursday also marked his first loss since May 31 against the Phillies. Rotowire.com 22 minutes ago
    • Noelvi Marte tallies three hits in season debut
Noelvi Marte tallied three hits on Thursday in his season debut against the Cardinals.

Advice: Marte showed zero signs of rust in his season debut, which is impressive considering he struggled during his recent minor league rehab assignment, after serving an 80-game suspension following a positive test for a performance-enhancing substance to open the year. The 22-year-old top prospect, who went 3-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored on Thursday evening, should be rostered in all fantasy formats as a potential four-category impact contributor. There aren’t a ton of questions regarding the talent and he has a clear path to everyday at-bats at the hot corner moving forward with Christian Encarnacion-Strand out for the season. • Earns sixth save
Kopech struck out one while not allowing a hit or a walk during the ninth inning Thursday to pick up the save against Atlanta.

Advice: A fielding error is all that prevented a 1-2-3 outing from Kopech, who collected his first save since May 15 after having blown his previous three opportunities. Kopech carries an impressive K/9 rate of 13.0, collecting 48 strikeouts over 33.1 innings. However, he's also allowed 48 batters to reach base (1.44 WHIP), including allowing 1.9 homers and 5.1 walks per nine innings. Kopech is a piece the White Sox will strongly consider selling at the trade deadline and will look for more performances like he provided Thursday to help them maximize his price tag. • Blasts eighth homer
Robert went 2-for-3 with a solo home run during Thursday's 1-0 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Robert's eighth blast of the season came in the first inning off Chris Sale and was the only run to cross the plate on the day. It was just the fourth multi-hit game of the season for Robert, who missed a couple months earlier this season with a hip flexor strain. While Robert has struggled to the tune of a .204 average and 38 strikeouts over 114 plate appearances for the moribund White Sox, his AB/HR ratio of 12.9 is a career-best mark and portends to good things to come for the 26-year-old slugger. • Tosses three innings in spot start
Kuhl did not factor into the decision Thursday, allowing no runs on one hit and two walks over three innings against Atlanta. He struck out three.

Advice: Kuhl pitched well during has spot start, allowing just two walks and facing one batter over the minimum through the first three innings as he held Atlanta off the board. He then came out for the fourth but was pulled after allowing a lead-off double to Ozzie Albies. Kuhl, who had thrown 99 pitches in long relief Sunday, made his first start since April of 2023 and according to the AP recounting of the game, admitted afterwards that he was "starting to hit a wall" prior to being pulled. Thursday's outing doesn't appear to be anything more than a spot start for the 31-year-old righty, who will likely return to the bullpen. Rotowire.com Today, 12:20 am

    • Dominant in tough-luck defeat
Sale (10-3) suffered the loss Thursday, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over seven innings against the White Sox. He struck out 11.

Advice: Sale dominated his former team, with a first-inning homer by Luis Robert marking the only blemish to his stellar outing. However, the bats failed to provide any support for Sale, and Atlanta suffered its third shutout loss of the season with each occurring within the month of June. Following an inexplicable blip June 1 when he allowed eight runs to the hapless Athletics, Sale has rebounded over the last four games by allowing a total of six earned runs over 26 innings, giving him an ERA of 2.08 with a 0.85 WHIP and 36 strikeouts during that stretch. His next start is tentatively scheduled to take place in the middle of next week, when Atlanta plays host to the Giants. Rotowire.com Today, 12:06 am
    • Accounts for team's only runs
Grisham went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Thursday's loss to the Blue Jays.

Advice: Grisham plated New York's only two runs of the game with a blast to left field in the fifth inning. The outfielder has just 10 hits in 69 at-bats this season for a paltry .145 average, though half of those hits have been homers. All five of Grisham's long balls have come against right-handed pitchers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:55 pm
