    • Held out of starting nine
Marte (back) is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Padres but could be available off the bench, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Marte was removed from Friday's contest with lower back tightness and the D-Backs will keep him out of the starting lineup Saturday. However, manager Torey Lovullo said that Marte could be available off the bench if needed. Marte should be considered day-to-day. Rotowire.com 4 minutes ago
    • Nimmo has three-hit game in win against Pirates
Brandon Nimmo went 3-for-5 with a run scored and a stolen base against the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Nimmo’s stolen base was his eighth of the year. He was 0-for-10 with two walks in his last three games. Nimmo is hitting .249 with an .810 OPS and 52 RBI on the season. Rotoworld 9 minutes ago
    • Starting Sunday
Ortiz will start Sunday's game against the Mets, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Ortiz has been working in a multi-inning role since the start of June and made a spot start June 26 against Cincinnati before returning the the bullpen. The 25-year-old hasn't pitched since Tuesday and completed six innings in his start against the Reds, so he should be able to handle a typical starters' workload Sunday. Through 55.0 innings, Ortiz owns a 3.27 ERA and a 47:18 K:BB. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago
    • Peterson allows two runs in no-decision Saturday
David Peterson allowed two runs in 4 1/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Mets’ 5-2 victory over the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Peterson gave up five hits, walked two and struck out five. Peterson has won three of his seven starts for the Mets this year and it would’ve been four if he completed five innings on Saturday. He has a 3.58 ERA, but his xFIP is 4.51. This is not the David Peterson we’re used to seeing. In 2022, he had a 10.7 K/9, 3.83 ERA and 3.31 xFIP. Last year, he had a 10.3 K/9, 5.03 ERA, and 3.59 xFIP. Last year he was unlucky with his ERA, but this year his strikeouts are way down. His K/9 is just 6.45 this year and that’s likely to catch up to him eventually given where his xFIP is. The 28-year-old left-hander is set to face the Nationals at home next week.

    • Luis Medina works five innings of one-run baseball
Luis Medina gave up just one run in five innings to get a win over the Orioles on Saturday.

Advice: Medina was handed 19 runs of support, but he only needed two. The 25-year-old did have some traffic while allowing six hits and three walks, but he was able to work around that self-inflicted damage to just the run while striking out three. The right-hander has allowed two runs over his last two starts in his 11 innings to lower his ERA to a not-horrific 4.37. It’d be a mistake to expect similar results against the Phillies next weekend. Rotoworld 12 minutes ago
