    • Swipes sixth bag
Cruz went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base Sunday against the Rays.

Advice: Cruz made plenty of highlights Saturday by blasting a home run into the Allegheny River, but he's slumped with only two hits across 19 at-bats during Pittsburgh's current homestand. He did manage to tally his sixth stolen base of the season Sunday, his first since returning from ankle soreness that caused him to miss games on June 14th and 15th. Rotowire.com 5 minutes ago
    • Rehab moving to Triple-A
Mata (shoulder) will have his rehab assignment transferred to Triple-A Worcester this week, Peter Abraham and Alex Speier of The Boston Globe report.

Advice: Mata made two appearances (both starts) for Double-A Portland last week, throwing five shutout innings for the Sea Dogs. The right-hander was initially sidelined in February by a hamstring injury, which has since healed, but shoulder soreness ensued. Mata, who is out of minor-league options, can remain on his latest rehab assignment until July 15, at which point the Red Sox will have to decide how to proceed. The club was focused on making him a reliever prior to hamstring injury, and it's unlikely Mata would be part of the parent club's rotation. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago

    • Extends hit streak to 13 games
Wong went 1-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Sunday's 7-4 win over the Reds.

Advice: Wong got the Red Sox started with a two-run home run in the fourth inning, extending a hit streak to 13 games (17-for-48, .354). The catcher, who entered 2024 with a career .232 batting average, is up to .330 for the season. Rotowire.com 53 minutes ago
    • Double, RBI in return
Stephenson started at catcher and went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 7-4 loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Stephenson was back in the starting lineup after being held out for two games with an undisclosed injury, although he did pinch hit Saturday. The Reds had called up catcher Austin Wynns on Friday, but Stephenson's injury was not serious, and Wynns was sent back to Triple-A Louisville on Sunday. Rotowire.com Today, 5:41 am
    • X-rays on elbow negative
Benson was removed from Sunday's loss to Boston after getting hit by a pitch on the inside of his left elbow, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports. X-rays following the game came back negative.

Advice: Benson was plunked during the bottom of the eighth inning and stayed in the game to run, but he was replaced by Nick Martini for the top of the ninth. Prior to leaving, Benson went 0-for-3, running his hitless streak to a career-high 21 at-bats. It's unclear if the injury will force Benson to miss much action, but it's unlikely he will be in the lineup Monday against Pittsburgh left-hander Bailey Falter. The lefty-hitting Benson doesn't get many opportunities against southpaws, against whom he's batting .095 (4-for-42) this season. Rotowire.com Today, 5:36 am

    • Logs RBI in fifth straight
Langford went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Royals.

Advice: The story of the game was the return of Max Scherzer to the mound, but Langford also contributed to the Rangers' fourth straight win. His fourth-inning double plated Texas' first run and he came home on Leody Taveras' two-run single. Langford has at least one hit and one RBI in five consecutive games, knocking in 10 runs in all while going 8-for-19 with five extra-base hits. Rotowire.com Today, 5:17 am
    • Logs fifth straight multi-hit game
Gurriel went 2-for-4 in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Gurriel returned to action after sitting out Saturday with minor elbow soreness. Sunday's two-hit outing gives the outfielder five consecutive games with multiple hits. He's 10-for-21 (.476) with nine singles and one home run during that stretch. Rotowire.com Today, 5:00 am
    • Headed for Triple-A Reno
Thomas (hamstring) will take live batting practice Monday then head to Triple-A Reno to continue a rehab assignment, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Thomas will be the hitter in a live BP session thrown by Zac Gallen (hamstring). Thomas' rehab assignment was paused the middle of last week then resumed over the weekend; he had six combined at-bats over two games in the Arizona Complex League and played seven innings in center field Saturday. He said the hamstring responded well to the activity, and the Diamondbacks decided to move his rehab to its Triple-A affiliate. Rotowire.com Today, 4:53 am

    • Throwing live BP Monday
Gallen (hamstring) is expected to throw a live batting practice session Monday, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Advice: It was reported last week that Gallen would throw a simulated game early this week, but it looks like he'll throw a live BP session instead. If all goes well, the right-hander could be activated in time for the series against Oakland that begins Friday. Gallen has thrown one sim game already followed by a pair of bullpen sessions.
