    Cole Ragans blanked the A’s for seven innings, allowing just two hits, in the Royals’ 6-2 win Friday.

    Advice: It’s the first time this year that Ragans has completed seven innings, though it’s the third time he’s pitched at least six scoreless innings. He’s 3-3 with a 3.70 ERA and an excellent 64/19 K/BB in 56 innings. Up next is a home start versus the Tigers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:28 pm
  • Mitch Spence effective for 4 2/3 in first start
    Mitch Spence allowed one run in 4 2/3 innings against the Royals in his first big-league start Friday.

    Advice: Spence allowed five hits, walked one and struck out four. The Rule 5 pick definitely helped his chances of making more starts with his showing. We wouldn’t trust him in fantasy leagues, but he’s been perfectly solid in amassing a 3.90 ERA and a 26/8 K/BB in 30 innings to date. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:28 pm
  • Michael Massey goes 3-for-4, homers versus A’s
    Michael Massey finished 3-for-4 and hit a two-run homer versus the A’s on Friday.

    Advice: Massey lifted his OPS from .633 to .708 tonight. That he’s walked just once in 85 plate appearances isn’t great, but his strikeout rate is down and his exit velocity numbers are fine.   • Brett Harris fans three times in defeat
    Brett Harris struck out all three times he was up against the Royals on Friday.

    Advice: Harris hit two homers in his second big-league game on May 4, but he definitely hasn’t done much since: he’s currently at .128//314/.359 in 51 plate appearances. With Ryan Noda heating up in Triple-A and J.D. Davis, Abraham Toro and Tyler Nevin all capable of playing third, Harris might wind up getting sent down sometime soon. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:28 pm
  • Luis Matos brings in five runs in win over Rockies
    Luis Matos drove in five runs and collected three hits in a 10-5 win Friday over the Rockies.

    Advice: Matos has certainly looked the part since being recalled from the injured list, and Friday was (obviously) no exception. The 22-year-old doubled twice, and the five-RBI night gives him a streak of four-consecutive games with runs driven in. Matos failed in his time with the Giants in 2023, but it’s not a question of talent with the outfielder. He’s worth a speculative add in deeper redraft leagues. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:18 pm
  • Matt Chapman doubles twice, scores three runs
    Matt Chapman doubled twice and scored three runs while driving in one in a win over the Rockies on Friday.

    Advice: Chapman has gone through it for most of the 2024 season, but things have looked better — for the most part — the past week. The infielder is only hitting .218 over the first six weeks of the campaign, but this has been a streaky hitter for the majority of the campaign, and it’s certainly possible he’s entering a hot run right now.   • Thairo Estrada picks up three hits, homer vs. COL
    Thairo Estrada homered while going 3-for-5 and scoring three runs against the Giants on Friday.

    Advice: Estrada swatted his seventh homer of the season with a three-run homer in the fifth inning that also gave San Francisco a 5-4 lead. The 28-year-old also singled twice and scored three runs in a massive fantasy effort for the veteran infielder. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:18 pm
  • Ryan Feltner surrenders five runs to Giants
    Ryan Feltner gave up seven hits and five runs while going four innings against the Giants on Friday.

    Advice: Feltner was staked a 3-0 lead after the first inning, but he wasn’t able to hold it. The right-hander walked two with two strikeouts in an ineffective outing; something that has been fairly common for the majority of his starts. He would be a risky streamer next week against Oakland.     Fairchild went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Dodgers.

    Advice: Fairchild has driven in a run in each of his last three games. All three of his homers this season have come since April 30, though his playing time remains sporadic as a short-side platoon option all around the outfield.
