• Two-run double in win
Nootbaar went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Wednesday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Nootbaar doubled in his final at-bat of the contest to send home Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt, giving the Cardinals a 4-1 lead. It was only the left fielder's fourth multi-base hit of the season, though he's now driven in two runs in two of his last three games. Nootbaar has also hit safely in six of his last seven contests, but is still yet to put together a multi-hit performance. Rotowire.com 27 minutes ago

  • Mike Trout first to reach 10 homers this season
Mike Trout became the first major leaguer to reach 10 homers this season when he took the Orioles’ Dean Kremer deep on Wednesday.

Advice: Trout’s 10th homer came in his 25th game. He still has just 13 RBI, since he’s not hitting singles (.237 average) and he’s especially not hitting with men on base. Things don’t figure to get much better there if the Angels leave him in the leadoff spot. Rotoworld 38 minutes ago

  • Tyrone Taylor homers, doubles against Giants
Starting for the first time in six games, Tyrone Taylor delivered a homer and a two-run double against the Giants on Wednesday.

Advice: We took issue with the Mets starting Joey Wendle over Taylor last night, and this kind of thing is why. Taylor is a little short of being a quality regular, but not by much. He’s hitting .327/.358/.510 in 54 plate appearances this season. Rotoworld Today, 3:53 pm

  • Tyler Fitzgerald hits first homer for Giants
Tyler Fitzgerald hit his first homer of the year Wednesday against the Mets.

Advice: The 381-foot homer accounted for the first earned run allowed this year by breakout Mets reliever Reed Garrett. Playing against lefties, Fitzgerald has hit .269/.321/.538 in his 28 plate appearances this season. An expanded role still doesn’t seem likely, but he does offer versatility if injuries strike. • On bench for fourth straight game
Duran is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: After seeing his streak of six consecutive starts come to an end Saturday, Duran has now found himself on the bench for four straight contests. Duran's path to meaningful playing time appears to have come to a close with Josh Smith solidifying himself as Josh Jung's (wrist) primary replacement at third base and with first baseman Nathaniel Lowe having made his return from the injured list over the weekend. • On bench again
Clase is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Advice: Clase will take a seat for a third straight game while the Mariners roll with Luke Raley and Mitch Haniger as their starters in the corner-outfield spots. Since being called up from Triple-A Tacoma on April 15, Clase has appeared in six games and has gone 5-for-20 with three RBI, one run and two stolen bases. The speedy 21-year-old initially looked on track to handle a regular role in the outfield following Dominic Canzone's (shoulder) placement on the injured list, but Clase may instead be part of a timeshare with Raley in left field. • Moves to bench Wednesday
McCormick is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: McCormick will take a seat after he went a collective 5-for-14 with a pair of RBI, a urn and a stolen base over the past four games. Yordan Alvarez will fill in for McCormick as the Astros' starting left fielder. Rotowire.com Today, 3:25 pm
  • Losing work to Gavin Sheets
Grossman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.

Advice: The switch-hitting Grossman finds himself on the bench against a right-handed pitcher for the second day in a row. While Grossman should still be a regular part of the lineup versus left-handed pitching, Gavin Sheets appears to have supplanted him as the primary option in right field. Rotowire.com Today, 3:18 pm
  • Gets Wednesday off
Fletcher is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.

Advice: Fletcher still appears to be locked into a near-everyday role for the White Sox, but he'll give way to Kevin Pillar in center field Wednesday. The 26-year-old has turned in a lowly .548 OPS through 20 games, but that mark actually places him fifth among the 11 White Sox players who have logged at least 40 plate appearances this season.
