• My Sharona: Landon Knack gets first win in blowout
Landon Knack allowed two runs over six innings on Wednesday against the Nationals to collect his first career win.

Advice: Knack limited Washington’s offense to just three hits, including a second-inning solo shot by Nick Senzel, and got plenty of support from Los Angeles’ lineup to cruise to the first victory of his career. He finished with five strikeouts and only issued three walks. The 26-year-old top pitching prospect holds a strong 3.27 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 9/4 K/BB ratio across 11 innings (two starts) so far. He’ll presumably take the ball on either Monday or Tuesday against the Diamondbacks in his next outing. Rotoworld 4 minutes ago

  • Crikey: Dodgers tag Irvin for six runs in loss
Jake Irvin was torched for a season-high six runs over 4 2/3 innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Irvin was unable to flummox the Dodgers’ star-studded lineup for the second straight start, getting tagged for a staggering 12 hits over 4 2/3 frames, after spinning six shutout frames last week out in Los Angeles. Amazingly, none of the dozen hits wound up leaving the yard, but it was enough to saddle him with a loss in a one-sided affair. He struck out three and only issued one walk. He’ll bring a pedestrian 4.55 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 23/7 K/BB ratio across 27 2/3 innings (five starts) into a favorable matchup on Monday against the Marlins. It’s a nice spot for streaming purposes, which gives him some appeal for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues. Rotoworld 4 minutes ago

  • Shohei Ohtani raises average to .371 in blowout
Shohei Ohtani went 3-for-6 with a pair of RBI on Wednesday in the Dodgers’ blowout win over the Nationals.

Advice: We’re running out of superlatives to describe Ohtani’s exploits. He doubled three times in the one-sided affair, including a pair of runs-scoring knocks in the eighth and ninth innings, respectively, to raise his batting average to an astronomical .371 (39-for-105) in the process. The 29-year-old two-way fantasy superstar has put together an unbelievable Dodgers debut so far with a 1.128 OPS to go along with 22 runs scored, six homers, 16 RBI and five steals through 26 games. • Carlos Carrasco tagged for three homers by Red Sox
Carlos Carrasco surrendered five runs and nine hits in five innings Wednesday in a loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Carrasco gave up three homers, none of them cheapies. Unfortunately, there’s probably not much to be done here, as Carrasco is averaging barely over 90 mph with his fastball. That’s down two mph from last year and about four mph from his prime. He’ll keep doing his best — and his 4.63 ERA in five starts isn’t exactly bad — but he has very little upside as is. • Josh Fleming gives up two unearned runs as opener
Josh Fleming pitched decently as an opener against the Brewers on Wednesday, giving up a pair of unearned runs on one hit over 2 1/3 innings.

Advice: The 27-year-old left-hander walked two batters while recording only one strikeout on the night. All of the damage came in his final inning of work, as Sal Frelick reached on an error to start the inning and Fleming issued a one-out walk before exiting. Both runs ultimately came around to score against the Pirates’ bullpen. For the season, he now sports a stellar 1.42 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and an 8/5 K/BB ratio across 12 2/3 innings of work. • Alec Marsh leaves start with forearm contusion
Alec Marsh was removed from Wednesday’s start against the Blue Jays with a right forearm contusion.

Advice: Marsh was drilled by a 94-mph line drive off the bat of Addison Barger in the fifth inning, which prompted his removal from the game. He’ll likely undergo additional testing just to be sure there’s nothing wrong structurally. It’s probably going to take a couple of days to determine whether or not he’ll be able to make his next scheduled start. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

  • Chase Anderson to start for Red Sox on Thursday
Chase Anderson will start for the Red Sox on Thursday against the Guardians.

Advice: The Red Sox are in a tough spot with Brayan Bello heading to the injured list and need to scramble to fill his spot in the starting rotation. Anderson has been used in a multi-inning role out of the bullpen, but he has thrown 25 or fewer pitches in each of his last four outings. Don’t expect him to work more than two or three innings before passing the baton on Thursday. Rotoworld 35 minutes ago

  • Exits with injury
Marsh was removed from his start Wednesday versus Toronto after getting hit by a comebacker, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Marsh took a 94-mph line drive off his right forearm during the fifth inning and looked to be in a considerable amount of pain before leaving the game with trainers. The Royals will take a closer look at him and should offer an update on his status after Wednesday's game. The 25-year-old righty pitched 4.1 innings of shutout ball before exiting. • A.J. Puk to pitch out of bullpen once healthy
Marlins’ manager Skip Schumaker told reporters on Wednesday that A.J. Puk (shoulder) will work out of the team’s bullpen when he returns from the injured list.

Advice: The 28-year-old left-hander attempted to transition back to the rotation this season, but he wound up making just four starts and compiling a miserable 9.22 ERA, 2.63 WHIP and a 12/17 K/BB ratio over 13 2/3 innings. His already diminished fantasy value will drop down to around zero, unless he can work his way into the closer’s role at some point during the season. Rotoworld Today, 5:24 pm
