    • Jhoan Duran (oblique) throws live bullpen session
Jhoan Duran (oblique) threw a successful live bullpen session on Friday in Minnesota.

Advice: Duran is close to being sent out on a minor league rehab assignment, and could go out before the weekend is through if he wakes up feeling good on Saturday. The 26-year-old stopper has a chance to make his triumphant return to the Twins bullpen before the month of April is through. Rotoworld Today, 4:01 pm

    • Throws BP session Friday
Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said Friday that Duran (oblique) threw a 21-pitch bullpen session and felt no discomfort, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Duran was supposed to throw 20 pitches Friday, but Baldelli noted that the right-hander "wanted an extra one, so that tells you he's feeling good." It's another positive step for Duran, and he appears close to starting his rehab assignment. He started the season on the 15-day IL due to a right oblique strain he sustained in spring training. • Sits down versus southpaw
Lee isn't in the Giants' lineup for Friday's game against the Diamondbacks, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: After extending his hitting streak to 10 games with two hits Thursday, Lee will take a seat Friday against left-hander Jordan Montgomery. Tyler Fitzgerald will fill the void in center field and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Today, 3:56 pm

    • Jung Hoo Lee absent from Giants lineup on Friday
Jung Hoo Lee is absent from the Giants’ starting lineup for Friday night’s tilt against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The 25-year-old outfielder will get a rare breather with left-hander Jordan Montgomery taking the mound for the Diamondbacks. Lee has gotten off to a nice start in his first season stateside, hitting .282/.326/.346 with a homer, five RBI and two stolen bases through his first 19 games. Tyler Fitzgerald will cover center field in his place and will bat eighth for the Giants on Friday night. Rotoworld Today, 3:21 pm

    • Sitting Friday vs. Atlanta
Carter is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: Carter will head to the bench with Atlanta sending left-hander Chris Sale to the mound. Wyatt Langford will start in left field, while the righty-hitting Davis Wendzel will fill in at DH. Rotowire.com Today, 2:10 pm

    • Evan Carter not in Rangers lineup on Friday
Evan Carter is not in the Rangers’ starting lineup for Friday night’s battle against the Braves.

Advice: The dynamic 21-year-old outfielder will get a breather with tough opposing southpaw Chris Sale taking the hill for the Braves. Wyatt Langford will cover left field in his place while Davis Wendzel will serve as the Rangers’ designated hitter and will bat eighth on Friday night in Atlanta. Rotoworld Today, 1:58 pm

    • Swipes second bag
Altuve went 2-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to Atlanta.

Advice: The veteran second baseman racked up his fifth multi-hit performance over the last seven games, a stretch in which Altuve is batting a blistering .467 (14-for-30). He was hardly cold before that though, and he's failed to collect a hit in only one of his first 20 games. On the season, Altuve is slashing .388/.462/.675 with five homers, two steals, seven RBI and 15 runs scored. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:52 am

    • Power surge continues Wednesday
Ozuna went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Astros.

Advice: The veteran slugger got Atlanta on the board in the second inning, leading off the frame by crushing a J.P. France sweeper 432 feet to left field. Ozuna is tied with Mike Trout for the MLB lead with eight homers, and Wednesday's blast extended his hitting streak to 16 games -- a stretch in which he's slashed .379/.431/.788 with 13 runs and 23 RBI, in addition to all eight long balls. • Collects fifth save
Iglesias walked one in a scoreless 10th inning Wednesday to record his fifth save of the season in a 5-4 win over the Astros.

Advice: After Atlanta grabbed the lead in the top of the 10th, Iglesias walked Kyle Tucker on five pitches to lead off the bottom of the frame and set up a double play, and the right-hander got one from Jeremy Pena to end the game. Iglesias is still looking for his peak velocity -- he topped out at 94.6 mph with his sinker Wednesday, below last season's 95.0 mph average -- and he has just a 3:1 K:BB through his first 6.1 innings. However, the 34-year-old is 5-for-5 in converting save chances and sports a 2.84 ERA and 0.95 WHIP. His job as Atlanta's closer remains secure. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:31 am
