    • Bobby Miller struggles in final rehab tune-up
Bobby Miller (shoulder) surrendered five runs over 4 2/3 innings on Thursday in a minor league rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: Miller struck out four, issued three walks, and threw 93 pitches (51 strikes) in his fourth and likely final rehab start as he completes his lengthy rehabilitation process from a right shoulder injury. The positive news here is that he averaged 97.4 mph on his four-seam fastball. Unfortunately, he got hit pretty hard and struggled to find the strike zone in this one. He’s likely to rejoin Los Angeles’ starting rotation mix at some point next week. Rotoworld Today, 7:06 pm

    • Likely back Friday
Seager (hamstring) was scratched from Thursday's lineup as a precaution, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Manager Bruce Bochy disclosed that Seager experienced tightness in his hamstring while warming up for Thursday's game. Bochy also noted that Seager is likely to be back in the lineup Friday against the Mariners. Rotowire.com Today, 5:15 pm

    • Corey Seager scratched from Thursday’s lineup
Corey Seager has been scratched from the lineup for Thursday’s series finale against the Dodgers due to left hamstring tightness.

Advice: Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters they’re exercising an abundance of caution after Seager experienced some left hamstring tightness during his pregame routine. The lingering issue has caused him to miss four of the previous five games. The 30-year-old fantasy superstar blasted a three-run homer on Wednesday in his return to the lineup at his old stomping ground in Los Angeles and the expectation is that he’ll be ready for Friday’s series opener against the division-rival Mariners. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Today, 4:30 pm

    • Scratched from lineup
Seager was scratched from the Rangers' lineup ahead of Thursday's game against the Dodgers, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The reason for Seager's removal from the lineup is unknown, but the Rangers should offer an explanation relatively soon. In the meantime, Travis Jankowski will step in as Texas' designated hitter with Josh Smith starting at shortstop. Rotowire.com Today, 3:39 pm

    • Nestor Cortes solid for seven against Royals
Nestor Cortes pitched seven innings of two-run ball in a no-decision against the Royals on Thursday.

Advice: Cortes turned in his best start in weeks, but he was still in line for the loss when he left. The Yankees offense did let him off the hook, but the Bombers still lost the game to fall to 6-9 in Cortes’s starts. It’s a bizarre figure, given that Cortes has been pretty good with his 3.59 ERA and the team is 43-13 when anyone else starts. Rotoworld Today, 2:27 pm

    • Collects season-high four hits
Albies went 4-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored Thursday against the Orioles.

Advice: Albies' first-inning double set the stage for Atlanta to take an early lead while his double in the ninth eventually led to a couple of insurance runs as a tight one-run lead turned into a three-run victory. Albies collected multiple hits for the 17th time in 58 games, though it's just the second time he's had three or more in a game this season. His four-hit effort came on the heels of a seven-game stretch in which he had collected just four hits total, batting .143 over 28 at-bats during that span. Rotowire.com Today, 2:06 pm

    • Ozzie Albies collects four hits against Orioles
Ozzie Albies had four hits, including a pair of doubles, and two runs scored Thursday against the Orioles.

Advice: That as many hits as he had in his previous seven games combined. Albies hasn’t been a disaster for the Braves this season, but he has been quite a fantasy disappointment, mostly because he’s been limited to four homers in 58 games. He finished with 33 in 148 games last year. It’s the result of injuries and the short 2020, but it’s kind of funny that through Albies’ first seven seasons (not including the partial 2024), he’s had at least 24 homers four times and no more than eight the other three years. • Goes seven strong in no-decision
Cortes allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two over seven innings during Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Royals. He didn't factor in the decision.

Advice: Cortes ran into some trouble in the fourth inning with two runs allowed but otherwise kept Kansas City off the board, pitching deep into yet another start. This was his fifth outing this season of seven or more innings, which is tied for the second most in the American League. The two strikeouts tied for a season low, and the veteran lefty has now gone four straight starts without a win. He will take a 3.59 ERA into his next start, which lines up to come against the Orioles next week. Rotowire.com Today, 1:56 pm

    • Belts another long ball
Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to Texas.

Advice: Ohtani gave the Dodgers an early lead with a 424-foot solo shot in the first inning, but Los Angeles managed only one run the rest of the game. The homer was the second in as many days for the slugger, and he's up to 17 on the campaign, tied for sixth-most in the majors. Ohtani has added 44 RBI, 51 runs, 15 stolen bases and a .311/.383/.587 slash line through 298 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 11:37 am
