    • Nick Pivetta yanked after four versus former team
Nick Pivetta surrendered four runs in four innings Wednesday in a no-decision versus the Phillies.

Advice: Pivetta walked four tonight. He’s issued 11 free passes in his last four starts after totaling two in his first five. Pivetta also struck out four tonight. Oddly enough, his nine starts this season have seen him strike out at least eight on five occasions and no more than four the rest of the time. He’s 3-4 with a 3.88 ERA. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:37 pm

    • Kyle Finnegan closes out Tigers on Wednesday night
Kyle Finnegan served up a solo homer to Riley Greene in the ninth inning on Wednesday night, but still managed to secure his 19th save of the season.

Advice: The 32-year-old closer came on with a three-run lead to protect in the ninth inning. He gave one run back on a one-out solo blast to Greene, but battled back to strike out Wenceel Perez and then got Mark Canha on a ground ball to second base to end it. Finnegan has performed as one of the top closers in the league this season — posting a 1.91 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and a 30/10 K/BB ratio across 28 1/3 innings. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:40 pm

    • Grabs second win
Finnegan (2-3) earned the win in Tuesday's 10-inning victory over the Tigers, striking out three over 1.1 scoreless innings.

Advice: Finnegan struck out Colt Keith for the final out in the ninth, stranding the winning run on second base, before the Nats took a 5-4 lead in the top of the 10th. The right-hander would then set Detroit down in order in the bottom half, stranding the free runner to close out his second win this season. The 32-year-old Finnegan has been superb this year, allowing just two earned runs in his last 25.2 innings. Overall, he sports a 1.65 ERA with a 0.84 WHIP and 29:10 K:BB while converting 18 of 20 save chances across 27.1 innings. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:09 am

    • Blanks Cardinals
Skenes didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against St. Louis, allowing five hits and no walks across 6.1 scoreless innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Skenes was locked into a pitchers' duel with Miles Mikolas, as the first run of the game didn't come across until the ninth inning, leaving both starters with no-decisions. Individually, Skenes was excellent once again, punching out seven or more batters for the fifth time in six starts while issuing no walks for the first time all year. Through 33.1 innings, Skenes has struck out 46 batters and owns a 2.43 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP. He'll make his first trip to Coors Field on Sunday to face off against the Rockies. • Paul Skenes strikes out eight, Pirates down Cards
Paul Skenes recorded eight strikeouts over 6 1/3 scoreless innings in a win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Skenes left the game with the ballgame knotted in a scoreless stalemate after scattering five hits over six-plus frames. The rookie phenom did everything he could to position himself for a win, allowing just one extra-base hit while not surrendering a walk. He ran into a slight bit of trouble in the fifth inning, giving up back-to-back singles to kick off the frame. However, with Nolan Arenado on third and no outs, Skenes would strike out the next two batters he faced before getting Michael Siani to ground out to end the inning. Skenes lowered his ERA to 2.43 on the season and will have a chance to earn his next win on Sunday against the Rockies. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:21 pm

    • Kyle Finnegan collects win in relief on Tuesday
Kyle Finnegan picked up a win in relief with 1 1/3 scoreless innings of work on Tuesday against the Tigers.

Advice: Finnegan struck out Colt Keith to preserve a tie ballgame in the ninth inning and send the contest to extra innings before coming back out to protect a one-run margin in the ensuing frame. The 32-year-old stopper has been outstanding this season, converting 18 saves to go along with a sublime 1.65 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 29/10 K/BB ratio across 27 1/3 innings (27 appearances). • Logan Gilbert gets no-decision after quality start
Logan Gilbert was left with a no-decision Monday after allowing three runs in 6 2/3 innings against the White Sox.

Advice: Gilbert struck out eight and walked none. The Mariners have struggled mightily to score runs while Gilbert is in the game, but they did score eight after he left to win tonight. Gilbert is just 3-4 in spite of a 3.19 ERA and an 84/20 K/BB in 90 1/3 innings. Rotoworld Monday, 10:44 pm

    • Fans eight in no-decision
Gilbert allowed three runs on six hits and no walks while striking out eight batters over 6.2 innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Monday.

Advice: Gilbert got through five scoreless frames before Luis Robert tagged him for a two-run homer in the sixth. The righty hurler returned for the seventh and gave up another run on a pair of hits before being pulled with two outs. Though he faded over his final two innings, Gilbert tied his second-highest strikeout total of the campaign and finished with his fifth quality start over his past six outings. However, he hasn't earned any victories over that stretch despite posting a solid 3.52 ERA. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:51 pm

    • Suffers first loss since April
Lugo (9-2) took the loss to the Yankees on Monday, allowing four runs on eight hits and one walk with four strikeouts over seven innings.

Advice: Lugo had two rough innings, surrendering three hits and two runs in both the first and fourth frames. While all eight hits allowed in the game were singles, he only generated seven swinging strikes on 101 pitches. Lugo has now given up nine runs combined in two June starts after only yielding nine in the entire month of May, but his opponents in those two outings currently rank second and seventh in runs scored this season. Lugo still owns a 2.36 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 75:20 K:BB in 14 starts and lines up against the Dodgers, who rank fourth in runs scored in 2024, on Saturday. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:05 pm
