  • Gyorko homers in both halves of DH again
Jedd Gyorko homered in both halves of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Mets.

Advice: He also homered in both halves of a doubleheader last Wednesday versus the Padres and he now has seven home runs in his last nine games. Gyorko probably isn't going to finish this season with an .800-plus OPS -- it's at .814 right now -- but he does have pretty good power and he's probably going to keep playing regularly for St. Louis. There's reason to grab him and start him in deeper mixed leagues. Rotoworld.com 54 minutes ago

  • Ben Zobrist goes 0-for-3 in loss
Ben Zobrist finished 0-for-3 with a walk Tuesday in the loss to the White Sox.

Advice: Zobrist is hitting just .136 in July, though at least three of his nine hits have gone for homers. He's also 1-for-3 stealing bases this month. There's no dropping him in mixed leagues, not as long as he's an everyday guy in the strong Cubs offense, but manager Joe Maddon might want to think about giving him more time off. • Trea Turner starting in CF on Tuesday night
Trea Turner will start in center field Tuesday against the Indians.

Advice: Turner saw some time in center field in the minors, but this will be his first start at the position in the majors. He should see more time there with Ryan Zimmerman (rib cage) back from the disabled list. Turner is batting leadoff Tuesday while Ben Revere will play left and bat eighth. Jayson Werth is in the DH spot. Rotoworld.com Today, 12:33 pm

Brett Lawrie (hamstring) is out of the starting lineup again Tuesday against the Cubs.

  • Arismendy Alcantara explodes for four hits
Athletics minor league INF/OF Arismendy Alcantara produced four hits in Monday's win for Triple-A Nashville.

Advice: He drove in four runs as the Sounds rolled to an easy 12-5 win over Omaha. Alcantara has been scorching hot over his last 10 games, hitting .510 with 12 RBI during that span while raising his season average from .238 to .282. The 24-year-old leads the Pacific Coast League with 28 steals and has only been caught three times this season. Alcantara was traded from the Cubs last month in a deal that sent Chris Coghlan back to Chicago. He's gone 3-for-13 in five games in the majors this year. Rotoworld.com Today, 11:30 am

The speedy second baseman is 7-for-27 (.259) over seven games during his minor league tuneup games with Triple-A New Orleans. He got off to a slow start, but has hit safely in each of his last five games. He could make a big impact in fantasy leagues over the final two months. Rotoworld.com Today, 6:29 am

Javier Baez finished 3-for-4 with a homer and a doubles Monday against the White Sox.

Advice: Most of Baez's success this year has come off lefties, so it was nice to see him collect extra-base hits against a pair of righties in this one. It could help him earn some more playing time. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:10 pm

Scooter Gennett singled and ripped a solo home run in Monday's victory over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Gennett got the scoring going with a deep blast to center field in the first inning. Dee Gordon (suspension) left a rehab game Tuesday with Triple-A New Orleans due to a leg cramp.

Advice: Gordon felt the cramp while running out of the box on a grounder to short in the fourth inning. If it is indeed just a cramp, he should remain on track to rejoin the Marlins on July 28. • Harrison's daring dash delivers walk-off win
Josh Harrison tripled and scored on a throwing error in the bottom of the ninth inning Tuesday, giving the Pirates a 3-2, walk-off win over the Brewers.

Advice: Harrison crushed a Tyler Thornburg pitch to deep center field and busted it out of the box, thinking triple all the way. The relay throw then skipped past third baseman Hernan Perez, letting Harrison walk home as the winning run. It certainly wasn't the most conventional way to walk off, but the Bucs will take it. The triple was the first of his major league career after he hit 17 in 268 minor league games. The runs batted in were also his first of the season in six games played.
