    • Absent from lineup again
Yoshida is out of the lineup for Thursday's game in Cleveland.

Advice: Red Sox manager Alex Cora insisted prior to Wednesday's game against the Guardians that Yoshida was still the team's everyday designated hitter. However, he's now out of the lineup for a third straight contest and for the sixth time in eight games, with all but one of those absences coming versus righties. Rafael Devers will start at DH again Thursday as he comes back from a knee issue, and Yoshida presumably will be back in the lineup once Devers is ready to return to third base. Clearly, the club has little faith in Yoshida's glove, as he's played just one inning in left field this season. Rotowire.com Today, 8:11 am
    • Collects ninth steal
Caballero went 1-for-3 with a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 7-5 win over the Tigers.

Advice: The shortstop continues to make an impact on the basepaths. Caballero has gone 4-for-4 on steal attempts over the last six games, and on the season he sports a .272/.302/.432 slash line with two homers, nine stolen bases, 11 runs and 11 RBI in 23 contests. Rotowire.com Today, 7:32 am
    • Fans 10, matches career high
Kremer (1-2) earned the win Wednesday over the Angels, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk over 5.1 innings while striking out 10.

Advice: Kremer shut out the Angels over the first five innings before surrendering a solo homer to Mike Trout in the sixth, followed by a single to Nolan Schanuel, which would lead to the right-hander being relieved by Jacob Webb. Kremer dominated Los Angeles' lineup with his four-seamer throughout the day while matching his career high with 10 strikeouts. He's now allowed three or fewer hits in three of his five starts to open the season, though he's also given up at least one home run in all but one of those outings. Rotowire.com Today, 5:21 am
    • Grabs fifth save
Diaz earned the save in Wednesday's 7-4 win over the Phillies, allowing one hit in a scoreless inning.

Advice: After allowing three runs and blowing a save in his first outing this year, Diaz has converted his subsequent five save opportunities, allowing just one run while striking out 10 over his last nine appearances. His ERA is down to 3.48 with a 1.16 WHIP across 10.1 innings this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:13 pm
    • Raisel Iglesias allows two runs in rare meltdown
Raisel Iglesias was charged with two runs (one earned) in the ninth inning on Wednesday and was saddled with a blown save against the Marlins.

Advice: Iglesias was called upon to guard a two-run lead and was unable to preserve the victory after three straight singles and a fielding error by first baseman Matt Olson allowed a pair of runs to cross the plate. The veteran stopper deserves credit for getting the contest to extra innings by retiring ensuing batters Jesús Sánchez, Tim Anderson and Nick Gordon to stand the potential go-ahead run at third base. It was his first blown save in eight opportunities this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:31 pm
    • Blows first save
Iglesias blew the save Wednesday against the Marlins, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and no walks across one inning. He struck out one.

Advice: Iglesias was given two runs of cushion in the ninth but allowed three consecutive singles to open up the frame. With the bases loaded and no outs, a hard-hit ground ball by Josh Bell ricocheted off Matt Olson into Atlanta's dugout, allowing two runs to score. The outing snapped Iglesias's streak of seven straight appearances with a save and was just his second outing allowing a run in 10 appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:26 pm
    • Still viewed as everyday DH
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said prior to Wednesday's 8-0 win over the Guardians that Yoshida is still viewed as the team's primary designated hitter, despite being on the bench for two straight matchups with right-handed starting pitchers, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports. "He's an everyday DH, man," Cora said of Yoshida. "I don't know what the big deal is. [Tyler] O'Neill had to DH [on Tuesday]. [Rafael Devers] had to DH [on Wednesday]."

Advice: Yoshida's consecutive absences from the lineup created some question regarding whether the 30-year-old was still viewed as an everyday player after struggling to a .250/.333/.375 slash line through the Red Sox's first 24 games of the season, but Cora dispelled the notion that Yoshida's role was being downsized. The skipper noted that the Red Sox's injury situation was largely responsible for Yoshida being excluded from the lineup, as O'Neill was limited to DH duties when he came off the 7-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's 4-1 loss, and Devers was eased back in as a DH on Wednesday after having not played in a week due to a bone bruise in his left knee. O'Neill returned to his usual spot in left field Wednesday, but Devers may need another day or two as a DH before the Red Sox clear him to play third base. Since the Red Sox aren't keen on having Yoshida play in the corner outfield, he could miss out on more starts until Devers is back at third base on a full-time basis. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:45 pm
    • Dean Kremer strikes out 10 in win over Angels
Dean Kremer fanned 10 while allowing two runs in 5 1/3 innings Wednesday against the Angels, earning him his first win of 2024.

Advice: Kremer matched his career high for strikeouts, which he established last July against the Yankees. His previous high in four starts this year was six. Kremer allowed six homers in 27 1/3 innings, which is why his ERA stands at 4.61, but he’ll be an occasional streaming option in mixed leagues. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:18 pm
    • Hamstring injury lingering
Angels manager Ron Washington said Wednesday that Drury is still feeling soreness from the left hamstring injury he sustained last week, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Drury is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Orioles for a third straight game, although Washington said the 31-year-old is available to pinch hit. The Angels are off Thursday, so Drury could be ready to return to the lineup Friday versus the Twins. Luis Rengifo will likely continue to play second base until Drury is ready to play the field again. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:01 pm
