• Turns in clean outing
Pressly allowed one hit and struck out one across a scoreless inning to earn a hold Friday against the Nationals.

Advice: Pressly had significant struggles to begin the season, allowing six earned runs across his first 2.2 innings of work. While his ratios are still affected, he's since allowed only one earned run across his last five frames while maintaining a 7:3 K:BB in that span. Josh Hader converted the save in Friday's win, though he has allowed at least one earned in five of his 11 appearances to this point. Rotowire.com 44 minutes ago
  • Solid in no-decision
Manaea did not factor into the decision Friday against the Dodgers, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out three.

Advice: After allowing six earned runs to the Royals in his last start, Manaea pitched well Friday night against the dangerous Dodgers lineup. The Mets lefty managed to stifle the MVP trio of Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman, as they collectively went 1-for-8 with one walk and two strikeouts. Manaea faces a much less daunting task in his next start, scheduled to be against the Giants on the road. Rotowire.com 52 minutes ago

  • Suffers setback
Borucki (triceps) felt soreness after playing catch last week and hopes to resume throwing in the next few days, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Borucki was placed on the injured list April 7 and was not shut down for long. However, he remains without a timeline to return, and it's unclear whether he may need a rehab assignment before being activated from the injured list. Rotowire.com 56 minutes ago

  • Sean Manaea holds Dodgers to two runs over five
Sean Manaea held the Dodgers to two runs over five innings, but didn’t qualify for a decision Friday.

Advice: Manaea was awful against the Royals in his last start with eight runs — six earned — over 3 2/3 innings to show for it, but he was much better against the loaded Dodgers’ lineup because that’s just how this sport works. The left-hander was a bit fortunate to allow just the pair as he gave up four hits and issued three walks, but credit to the veteran for being able to get out of jams. For the most part, anyway. Manaea will take a 4.12 ERA into his start Wednesday against the Padres — a former employer of the southpaw. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:18 pm

  • Josh Hader gets second save for Astros
Josh Hader notched his second save despite allowing a run in the ninth against the Nationals on Friday.

Advice: It was the ninth earned run allowed by Hader in 9 2/3 innings. Last year, he allowed a total of eight earned runs in 56 1/3 innings. He also allowed just eight runs total in 58 2/3 innings in 2021. Obviously, this year isn’t going to compare. Still, there’s no reason to be particularly down on him going forward. • Picks up first save
Milner walked one and struck out two batters in one inning Friday. He earned a save against the Cardinals.

Advice: Milner took the mound with a 2-1 lead in the 10th inning and finished off the contest despite facing a first-and-third threat. It was the 33-year-old's first career MLB save. He's produced a 7:3 K:BB with a 4.15 ERA through 8.2 innings this season,. Milner still appears to be outside the Brewers' main closer committee at this time. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:48 pm
  • Blows save, earns win
Payamps (1-1) recorded one out and walked one batter Friday. He earned a win over the Cardinals after blowing a save chance.

Advice: Payamps entered the ninth inning with two runners on in a 1-0 game. After plunking Ivan Herrera to load the bases, he walked Brendan Donovan to let the tying run score. The Brewers would go on to win in the 10th innings, giving Payamps his first win of 2024. He's now sporting a 4.70 ERA with a 6:1 K:BB through 7.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:38 pm
  • Helsley allows run in 10th to pick up loss
Ryan Helsley allowed an unearned run in the 10th inning to pick up a loss to the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: The run was unearned because it was the extra-inning runner that ended up scoring. Helsley gave up an RBI single to William Contreras that gave Milwaukee a 2-1 lead, and Helsley his second loss of the season. Despite tonight’s disappointing result, the 29-year-old has been a strong fantasy option with seven saves already through the first 19 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:21 pm
  • Hoby Milner works scoreless 10th to pick up save
Hoby Milner fired a scoreless 10th against the Cardinals on Friday to pick up a save.

Advice: Milner was able to pick up the save in the 10th after Trevor Megill and Joel Payamps both were unable to get the job done. The southpaw has his first save of the year, but it’s worth noting that Abner Uribe was unavailable for this contest, so it’s unlikely he picks up many more. Milner can safely be left on the waiver wire. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:20 pm
