      Hicks (illness) will start Monday's game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.

      Advice: Giants manager Bob Melvin acknowledged after Hicks' most recent outing in Tuesday's loss to the Astros that the right-hander had been sick for several days leading up to the start. The illness might have played a factor in Hicks' lackluster numbers versus Houston (three runs allowed on five hits and one walk over 4.2 innings), but it won't cause him to miss his next turn through the rotation. With the ailment further in the rear-view mirror while he takes the hill Monday on five days' rest, Hicks will look to recapture the strong form he displayed earlier in the season. Even though he's failed to meet the threshold for a quality start in each of his last eight appearances, Hicks heads into Monday's game with a 3.01 ERA and 1.20 WHIP.       Cano struck out the only batter he faced Sunday to earn the save against the Phillies.

      Advice: Cano was called upon to clean up a bases-loaded situation with the tying run on deck and two outs in the ninth, earning his third save in the process. Cano earned the opportunity with usual closer Craig Kimbrel being rested after having pitched in each of the first two games of the series. While Cano maintains a prominent role in the Orioles' bullpen, Kimbrel has not allowed an earned run in over a month and maintains a strong hold on the closer role.     • Roughed up in loss
      Lively (6-3) took the loss Sunday against Toronto, yielding four earned runs on six hits and three walks in four innings. He struck out four.

      Advice: Lively pitched for the first time in eight days after leaving his most recent start with tightness after 65 pitches. He surrendered a two-run home run to Ernie Clement in the second inning, his first home run allowed since May 26. The four earned runs are a season worst for the 32-year-old, who had notched wins in each of his previous five starts. Despite Sunday's rough outing, Lively has pitched well for Cleveland this season, logging a 3.02 ERA, a 1.19 WHIP and a 52:18 K:BB across 59.2 innings pitched.     • Yennier Cano earns unexpected save for Orioles
      Yennier Cano got one out on four pitches Sunday to grab the save. He struck out the only batter he faced.

      Advice: Things got hairy in the ninth inning for Baltimore as a walk and two errors loaded the bases and forced Brandon Hyde to go to Cano with the tying run on deck. He struck out Edmundo Sosa to end the game and earned his third save of the season working in mostly a set-up role while Craig Kimbrel still soaks up the majority of saves.     • Lively gives up four in loss to Blue Jays Sunday
      Ben Lively allowed four runs in four innings and got the loss against the Blue Jays on Sunday.



      Advice: Lively gave up six hits, walked three and struck out four. He had won his last five starts. Lively had allowed two runs through the first four innings. He was removed after walking Spencer Horwitz and Davis Schneider to begin the fifth inning. Both runners scored on Daulton Varsho’s grand slam off Nick Sandlin. Lively isn’t as good as his 3.02 ERA suggests given his 4.15 xFIP. He’s benefited greatly from an 85 percent left on base percentage and that caught it up with him a little bit on Sunday. He’s still been a really good find off the waiver wire for fantasy managers. The 32-year-old right-hander is set to face the Blue Jays at home next week.

      Flaherty (4-4) earned the win Saturday over the Astros, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out six over five scoreless innings.

      Advice: Flaherty was skipped once through the rotation while he dealt with a back injury, which he received an injection for Monday. He was good in his return, though he was limited to 73 pitches (46 strikes), as the Tigers likely didn't want to risk pushing him too hard after they built up a 10-0 lead. Flaherty is at a 3.01 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 100:11 K:BB through 77.2 innings over 13 starts this season. Assuming he doesn't aggravate the back injury, he is tentatively scheduled to make his next start at home in a favorable matchup versus the White Sox. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:11 pm

      Jack Flaherty threw five scoreless innings in a win over the Astros on Saturday, allowing three hits and striking out six.

      Advice: Flaherty received an anti-inflammatory injection on Monday and had a few extra days of rest to combat a back injury, but he looked good overall on Saturday. His four-seam velocity was down 1.5 mph, so that’s something to keep an eye on, but he induced eight whiffs on 31 swings for a 26 percent whiff rate and 32 percent CSW.       Jack Flaherty (back) will start on Saturday against the Astros.

      Advice: As expected, Flaherty will take the ball this weekend against Houston’s high-powered offense after receiving a couple extra days of rest to address a back issue that cropped up during his previous start on June 4 against the Rangers. The 28-year-old righty has been magnificent this season in his Tigers debut and will aim to keep things rolling in this one. Rotoworld Saturday, 6:22 am

      Hunter Greene threw five innings of two-run ball against the Brewers on Friday.

      Advice: Greene sported some of his best velocity of the year tonight, but he walked five and gave up a homer to William Contreras, leading to the early exit. He got the win anyway, moving him to 5-2 with a 3.61 ERA on the season. He really should be even better than this, but he needs to cut back on the walks some. Rotoworld Friday, 10:24 pm
