    • Hunter Greene goes five in win over Brewers
Hunter Greene threw five innings of two-run ball against the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: Greene sported some of his best velocity of the year tonight, but he walked five and gave up a homer to William Contreras, leading to the early exit. He got the win anyway, moving him to 5-2 with a 3.61 ERA on the season. He really should be even better than this, but he needs to cut back on the walks some. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:24 pm
    • Takes third loss
Smith (0-3) allowed an unearned run on two hits and struck out one in one-third of an inning to take the loss Friday versus the Dodgers.

Advice: Smith gave up a run for the first time since May 22, though it was deemed unearned since Mookie Betts advanced to second base on an error before Freddie Freeman brought him home with an RBI single. After a rough start to the year cost him his high-leverage role, Smith has allowed just three runs (two earned) over his last 14.2 innings, though he has a mediocre 10:3 K:BB in that span. The veteran southpaw is at a 5.40 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 17:8 K:BB with one save, five holds and one blown save through 21.2 innings overall. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:10 pm

    • Picks up fifth win
Greene (5-2) allowed two runs on three hits and five walks over five innings Friday, striking out five and earning a win over the Brewers.

Advice: Greene coughed up a solo homer to William Contreras in the third before Milwaukee scratched across another run in the fifth. Greene generated 14 swinging strikes but struggled with his command, matching his season high with five walks. He needed 105 pitches to complete five frames. Greene is sporting a 3.61 ERA with an 89:37 K:BB through 14 starts this season. His next outing is lined up to be in Pittsburgh. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:09 pm
    • Jose Altuve doubles twice as Astros defeat Tigers
Jose Altuve went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and a run scored on Friday evening, helping to lead the Astros past the Tigers.

Advice: Altuve got a rally started with a leadoff double off of Tarik Skubal to begin the sixth inning. He then scored the game’s first run on Alex Bregman’s ensuing RBI triple. Altuve also drew a walk in the ballgame, reaching base safely in three of his four plate appearances. With his two-hit attack, the 34-year-old second baseman is now slashing an outstanding .298/.349/.453 to go along with 10 homers, 26 RBI and nine stolen bases on the season. • Tarik Skubal gives up four runs in loss to Astros
Tarik Skubal struggled in Friday night’s loss to the Astros, giving up four runs on six hits over his 6 1/3 innings of work.

Advice: Skubal recorded only two strikeouts in the ballgame while allowing one base on balls. He kept the Astros’ offense completely off the board and was engaged in a scoreless pitcher’s duel heading to the sixth inning. They broke through there though, as Jose Altuve doubled, Alex Bregman smacked an RBI triple, Yordan Alvarez followed with a sacrifice fly and Mauricio Dubon tacked on a two-run homer. Skubal got 13 swings and misses on just 84 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 24 percent. Now 8-2 on the season, he’ll carry a pristine 2.20 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and a 98/16 K/BB ratio (86 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Braves in Atlanta. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:09 pm
    • Mediocre in loss
Skubal (8-2) took the loss Friday in Houston, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk over 6.1 innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Skubal struggled in his appearance, failing to produce a quality start for just the fourth time in 14 outings this season. After completing five scoreless innings, the Tigers lefty allowed all four runs in the sixth, capped with a Mauricio Dubon two-run homer. In 86 innings this year, Skubal now sports a 2.20 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 98:16 K:BB. The 27-year-old is currently scheduled to make his next start against Atlanta on the road. • Still not doing on-field work
Tucker (lower leg) won't play in Saturday's game against Detroit and has yet to participate in on-field activities, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

Advice: There was initially optimism that Tucker would be able to return once eligible Friday, but a return doesn't seem imminent considering the 27-year-old hasn't resumed baseball activities yet and has already been ruled out for Saturday's game. The Astros could keep Tucker out through the weekend and activate him for a three-game road series against the White Sox that kicks off Tuesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:20 pm

    • Kyle Tucker (shin) won’t be ready on Saturday
Astros’ manager Joe Espada told reporters on Friday that Kyle Tucker (shin) will not be ready to be activated from the injured list on Saturday.

Advice: While he noted that Tucker is “moving in the right direction” he also admitted that Tucker is not doing baseball activities yet. While a return at some point over the weekend hasn’t been ruled out yet, it seems unlikely if he’s not doing any baseball activities yet. A more likely scenario has the 27-year-old superstar outfielder returning to action next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:10 pm

    • On bench against southpaw
Lowe is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: With the Rays facing a left-handed pitcher for the second consecutive night, Lowe will be held out of the starting lineup once again Friday. Jonny DeLuca will draw another start in right field and bat sixth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:48 pm
