    Ruiz (illness) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Harrisburg on Tuesday, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

    Advice: Ruiz will be with Harrisburg for a could days before being activated from the injured list, likely on Friday when the Nationals begin a road trip.   • Out with strained hamstring
    The Red Sox placed Heineman on the 10-day injured list Monday, retroactive to April 22, with a right hamstring strain.

    Advice: Heineman evidently must have suffered the injury during Sunday's game against the Pirates. He'll be eligible to return in early May but isn't a given to be back on the big-league roster once he's healthy, as the Red Sox might send him to Triple-A Worcester instead.
