  • Cashner (neck) throws side session
Andrew Cashner (neck) threw a side session Friday afternoon.

Advice: Cashner, who is making his way back from a neck strain, threw 25 pitches before taking a break and returning for a few more pitches. The next step is expected to be a minor league rehab start. He's tentatively scheduled to pitch with High-A Lake Elsinore on June 28. Rotoworld.com Today, 3:20 pm

  • Ross (shoulder) throws bullpen session
Tyson Ross (shoulder) threw 35 pitches in a bullpen session on Thursday.

Advice: Ross mixed in some sliders during the session and will likely throw again on the side before progressing to batting practice. He's making progress, but his return isn't expected until after the All-Star break. Rotoworld.com Today, 3:13 pm

  • Stephen Strasburg (back) on track for Sunday
Stephen Strasburg (back) is on track to start on Sunday versus the Brewers.

Advice: Strasburg was scratched from his last outing with an upper back strain, but he had two ribs popped back into place and is now feeling much better. He threw a light bullpen session Friday and should officially be cleared to start Sunday as long as he shows up to the ballpark Saturday feeling alright. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:17 pm

  • Blake Wood back from paternity leave
Reds activated RHP Blake Wood from the paternity leave list.

Advice: Wood has posted a 3.57 ERA and 35/22 K/BB ratio over 35 1/3 innings this season. He'll return to a setup role. Rotoworld.com Today, 11:56 am
  • Red Sox have inquired on Teheran, Vizcaino
Jim Bowden of ESPN and SiriusXM reports that the Red Sox have inquired on Julio Teheran and Arodys Vizcaino.

Advice: While Bowden notes that the Red Sox and Braves "really do match up well for a potential blockbuster type deal," he cautions that "there is no traction to a trade at this time." Teheran is surely going to be one of the hottest names involved in trade rumors next month, as he's put up a 2.66 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 92/24 K/BB ratio across 98 innings this season. He's under control cheaply through 2020, though, so the Braves might not be in a rush to move him. Vizcaino has been one of the best relievers in baseball with a 2.01 ERA and 44/15 K/BB ratio over 31 1/3 frames. He's under team control through 2018. Rotoworld.com Today, 7:59 am
