Player Notes

  • Flores (wrist) could be done for the year
ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports Wilmer Flores (wrist) may be done for the season.

Advice: He isn't close to swinging a bat and has already received two cortisone shots since going down with a bruised wrist two weeks ago. Flores could return if the Mets make a deep postseason run but it's a near certainty he won't be back for the final week of the regular season. Assuming that's the case, Flores will close out the 2016 campaign with 16 HR, 49 RBI and a .267 average across 307 at-bats. Rotoworld.com 18 minutes ago

  • Asdrubal Cabrera back in Mets lineup Saturday
Asdrubal Cabrera (quadriceps) returned to the Mets starting lineup on Saturday.

Advice: Cabrera was forced to make an early exit on Friday due to soreness in his right quad, it isn't enough to keep him out of Saturday's lineup though. He'll bat second against Alec Asher and the Phillies on Saturday. Rotoworld.com Today, 12:43 pm
  • Carlos Correa back in lineup on Saturday
Carlos Correa (shoulder) returned to the Astros starting lineup on Saturday.

Advice: Correa exited Friday's game after re-injuring his shoulder, but it's going to take a lot to keep him out of the Astros lineup at this point of the season. He's hitting in his customary cleanup spot against Jhoulys Chacin and the Angels on Saturday. Rotoworld.com Today, 12:41 pm
  • Jordy Mercer fouls out as pinch hitter
Jordy Mercer (forearm) fouled out as a pinch hitter during Friday's come-from-behind victory over the Nationals.

Advice: Mercer was scratched from Friday's lineup due to discomfort in his right forearm and was held out on Friday as well. The fact that he was able to appear as a pinch hitter bodes well for his status going forward and he should return to the starting lineup at some point over the weekend. Rotoworld.com Today, 5:44 am

  • Carlos Asuaje doubles twice
Collecting his first major league hits, Carlos Asuaje doubled twice and scored twice Friday against the Giants.

Advice: Asuaje was making his second start at second base since joining the Padres four days ago. The late callup will give him little chance to throw his hat in the ring for a place on next year's team, but he's a fringy prospect anyway. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 11:57 pm
