  • Minor (shoulder) in Braves' plans for '16
Mike Minor (shoulder) is still in the Braves' plans for 2016.

Advice: Minor missed the entire 2015 season after undergoing surgery in May to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, but Braves president of baseball operations John Hart said Monday that he's "all systems go" and ramping up his throwing program. The southpaw made $5.6 million this season and will be arbitration-eligible for the third time this winter. Because he was a Super Two player, he remains under team control through 2017. 60-Day DL
  • Gomez (intercostal): 'I'm ready to start'
Carlos Gomez (intercostal) said after working out at Yankee Stadium on Monday that he's "ready to start."

Advice: "The plan is to play tomorrow. I'm ready to start," Gomez said. The Astros have yet to comment on whether Gomez will indeed be in the lineup for Tuesday's American League Wild Card Game, but things do seem to be trending in the right direction. The outfielder has started just one of the club's previous 20 contests since suffering a strained left intercostal muscle. Yesterday, 5:54 pm
  • Kela (elbow) will be available for the ALDS
Koene Kela (elbow) is expected to be ready for the ALDS.

Advice: Kela was limited down the stretch by elbow issues, but it's something he can pitch through. And five days of rest should help. The young right-hander posted a stellar 2.39 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and 68/18 K/BB ratio in 60 1/3 innings this season for the AL West champs. Yesterday, 12:59 pm
  • Freese would 'absolutely' like to return
David Freese said Sunday that he would "absolutely" like to return to the Angels next season.

Advice: And it sounds like the Halos will try to work something out with the 32-year-old free agent third baseman. Freese had a nice season in Anaheim and there's not a ready-made replacement at the hot corner in that organization. "A lot of things have to happen on both sides," Freese said Sunday evening. "It’s a new experience for me. We’ll see what happens when the World Series is over, and go from there." Yesterday, 7:51 am
  • Flande (knee, ankle) goes two scoreless
Yohan Flande (knee, ankle) pitched two scoreless innings in Sunday's season finale against the Giants.

Advice: Flande yielded just one hit out of the seven batters he faced. The left-hander hadn't made an appearance since September 19 due to a bruised left patellar tendon. He finishes the 2015 season with a 4.74 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and 43/25 K/BB ratio in 68 1/3 innings. Yesterday, 6:11 am
