Player Notes

  • Manaea fans eight over seven innings in win
Sean Manaea was superb in Tuesday's 9-1 win over the Indians, yielding one run on three hits over seven innings.

Advice: Manaea induced eight strikeouts and walked two during this charmed outing. A Chris Gimenez solo home run in the sixth inning represented his only real spot of trouble. With the victory, Manaea improved to 5-8 with a 4.53 ERA and 1.27 WHIP. He will tango with the Astros on the road next time he toes the rubber. Rotoworld.com 52 minutes ago
  • Lamb's two-run double not enough for victory
Jake Lamb went 2-for-4 with a two-run double in Tuesday's loss to the Braves.

Advice: Lamb drove in two with a ground rule double in the third inning. He finished the evening with a pair of two-baggers, giving him 24 for the season as a whole. In addition, Lamb is slashing a shiny .262/.338/.535 with 24 homers and 77 RBI across 409 at-bats. On the whole, it has been a brilliant breakout year for the 25-year-old infielder. • Friedrich proves ineffective in loss to Cubs
Christian Friedrich failed to impress in Tuesday's loss to the Cubs, surrendering five runs on seven hits over 5 1/3 innings.

Advice: Friedrich struck out just two while walking four. Three of the five runs on his line came home via the home run, with Kris Bryant cracking a solo shot in the third and Addison Russell mashing a two-run shot as part of a three-run fifth. Friedrich will carry a limp 4.89 ERA and 1.49 WHIP into a road start against the Braves next time he toes the rubber. Rotoworld.com Today, 10:09 pm
  • Reyes has three hits, three runs versus Cards
Jose Reyes went 3-for-4 with an RBI single, a stolen base and three runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Reyes scored nearly half of the Mets' runs in the game, accounting for three of the team's seven. He did it with three singles, giving him 15 hits in his last 38 at-bats. After a slow start, the 33-year-old is now hitting .284/.336/.477 with three homers, 12 RBI, 18 runs scored and six steals in 26 games. Rotoworld.com Today, 9:48 pm
  • Anderson yields three runs over five vs. Rox
Chase Anderson allowed three runs on six hits, striking out seven, in five innings against the Rockies on Tuesday.

Advice: All three runs came on one swing by Nolan Arenado in the third inning. Anderson was otherwise strong, although he once again failed to pitch deep into a game. The good news for Anderson is that he still hasn't lost a start since July 9; the bad news is that he's just 7-10 overall with a 4.99 ERA and 1.42 WHIP. The 28-year-old will look to keep his non-losing streak going when he squares off with the Pirates on Sunday. Rotoworld.com Today, 9:27 pm
