  • Running bases
Thomas (hamstring) ran the bases with cleats Saturday, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

Advice: Thomas endured a setback during the recovery from a left hamstring strain in late May, and after being shut down from running, he resumed running the bases Saturday. He's expected to begin a rehab assignment next week, but manager Torey Lovullo said Wednesday that Thomas won't need many games before being activated considering how many at-bats he's taken while on the injured list. • Akil Baddoo dealing with soreness in knee
Akil Baddoo reported feeling soreness in his knee following a collision with Colt Keith during Saturday’s loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Keith seemed to take the brunt of the collision in shallow right field — and was removed from the game — but it sounds like Baddoo got a bit banged up as well. He should be considered day-to-day. Rotoworld Today, 5:00 pm
  • Carpenter hits second home run of the season
Matt Carpenter went 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and a solo home run against the Rockies on Saturday.

Advice: Carpenter’s home run was his second of the season. He brought the Cardinals to within one run with a solo blast in the seventh inning. The 38-year-old is hitting .200 with a .611 OPS on the year. Rotoworld Today, 4:59 pm
  • Blackmon has three hits, stolen base Saturday
Charlie Blackmon went 3-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored, a double and a stolen base against the Cardinals on Saturday.

Advice: The stolen base was Blackmon’s fifth of the season. He’s hitting just .259 with two home runs this year, but figures to continue to see a decent amount of playing time because, well, it’s the Rockies. Rotoworld Today, 4:56 pm
  • Tovar goes deep twice against Cardinals
Ezequiel Tovar went 4-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI against the Cardinals on Saturday.

Advice: The two home runs give Tovar 10 on the season. He hit a solo home run off Kyle Gibson in the sixth inning and a two-run home run that gave the Rockies a 6-4 lead off Andrew Kittredge in the seventh inning. Tovar is up to .294 with a .813 OPS and 28 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 4:50 pm
  • Set for MLB debut
Amador will be recalled from Double-A Hartford on Sunday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Advice: With Brendan Rodgers (hamstring) on his way to the 10-day injured list, Amador will get his first crack at big-league action. The 21-year-old hasn't made it past Double-A yet and although he owns a .194 batting average this season at Hartford, Amador is 14-for-39 (.359) with six home runs and six stolen bases in his last nine games. He figures to share playing time with Alan Trejo at second base. Rotowire.com Today, 4:44 pm
  • Brendan Rodgers (hamstring) heading to 10-day IL
Rockies’ manager Bud Black told reporters after Saturday’s game that Brendan Rodgers (hamstring) would be placed on the 10-day injured list prior to Sunday’s series finale against the Cardinals.

Advice: Black also confirmed what Francys Romero had reported earlier, that Adael Amador would be recalled from Double-A Hartford to take his place on the active roster. It’s a tough break for the Rockies, as Rodgers had been swinging a hot bat and had been extremely productive over the past few weeks. No word yet on just how long they expect Rodgers to be sidelined for. Rotoworld Today, 4:40 pm
  • Blasts solo home run
Garver went 1-for-3 with a home run and a walk in Saturday's loss to the Royals.

Advice: The designated hitter took Alec Marsh deep in the fifth inning to tie up the score. It was Garver's seventh homer of the season and his second in his last three games. Garver has struggled to the tune of a .180/.292/.348 line thus far, but he may be starting to turn it around with eight RBI and four extra-base hits over his last six games. • Diaz has two-hit game Saturday
Yandy Diaz went 2-for-4 against the Orioles on Saturday.

Advice: It was a quiet afternoon for the Rays as they were shutout. Diaz had the only two hits for Tampa Bay. After wining the batting title in the American League last year, he’s hitting just .245 so far this season. Diaz’ .273 BABIP this year is well below his .320 career BABIP. That doesn’t explain his lack of power this year as his .105 ISO is way down from his .192 ISO last season. Rotoworld Today, 4:25 pm
