Player Notes

  • Beginning mound work Wednesday
Phillips (hamstring) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Phillips has been on the injured list with a strained right hamstring since May 5, and he resumed playing catch Friday. He will presumably throw multiple bullpen sessions before progressing to facing live hitters, though he shouldn't take long to build back up as a reliever. Rotowire.com 10 minutes ago
  • Mets outright Max Kranick to Triple-A
Mets sent RHP Max Kranick outright to Triple-A Syracuse.

Advice: Kranick went unclaimed on waivers earlier this month after being designated for assignment and will head back to Triple-A Syracuse as extra organizational depth. The 26-year-old righty hasn’t made an appearance this season for the Mets and last pitched in the majors during the 2022 campaign. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago
  • Simulating innings Wednesday
Miller (shoulder) will throw two simulated innings at the Dodgers' complex in Arizona on Wednesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Assuming all goes well Wednesday, Miller will move onto either a three-inning sim game or begin a rehab assignment with one of the Dodgers' minor-league affiliates. Either way, the 25-year-old right-hander will most likely require multiple appearances in the minors as he continues building up to a starter's workload. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago
  • Resting against southpaw
Sheets isn't in the White Sox's lineup for the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Nationals.

Advice: With southpaw Mitchell Parker set to start on the mound for Washington, the lefty-hitting Sheets will take a seat for the nightcap. Andrew Benintendi, Rafael Ortega and Tommy Pham will start across the outfield while Sheets rests. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago
  • Miguel Andujar starting rehab assignment Thursday
Miguel Andujar (knee) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Thursday with Triple-A Las Vegas.

Advice: Andujar will presumably need a couple weeks of games to get back up to speed before making it back to Oakland. The 29-year-old has been out since late March recovering from right knee surgery. Rotoworld 28 minutes ago
  • Idle for nightcap
Lee isn't in the White Sox's lineup for the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader versus Washington.

Advice: Lee went 1-for-4 with a strikeout during a loss in Game 1, and he'll get a breather while Martin Maldonado starts behind the dish to conclude Tuesday's activities. Rotowire.com 31 minutes ago
  • Junior Caminero playing 2B on Tuesday at Triple-A
Rays top prospect Junior Caminero is playing second base on Tuesday for Triple-A Durham.

Advice: It’s a significant development for fantasy purposes as it could expedite Caminero’s return to the majors and open up additional avenues to get his bat in the lineup everyday. The 20-year-old, who entered Tuesday night batting .304 with six homers and one steal in 103 plate appearances over 23 contests this season for Triple-A Durham, hasn’t made an appearance at the keystone since back in 2022. It might also shed some light on Brandon Lowe’s status after he was lifted from a rehab contest earlier this week for precautionary reasons due to oblique discomfort. The Rays are currently rolling with Richie Palacios at second base in the majors right now. It feels like only a matter of time before Caminero is back in Tampa Bay. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago
  • Sitting for nightcap
Robles is not in the starting lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader with the White Sox.

Advice: Robles will take a seat after he went 1-for-2 with an RBI sacrifice fly in the Nationals' 6-3 win over Chicago in Tuesday's matinee. Eddie Rosario will slide over to right field while Ildemaro Vargas enters the lineup in left field and bats eighth against the White Sox. Rotowire.com 33 minutes ago
  • Hit in head during BP
Soler (shoulder) hit on the field Tuesday but walked off with a trainer after suffering an apparent injury, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Tuesday marked the first time Soler has hit off the field since landing on the IL, but his session came to an abrupt end when he fouled off a ball that ricocheted off the top of the cage and hit him in the head. It's unclear how severe the damage is, but the 32-year-old was at least shaken up enough for him to be shut down for the day. The Giants will take a closer look at him and may offer more information on his status in the near future. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago
