Player Notes

  • Not starting versus lefty
Kirilloff isn't in the Twins' lineup for Saturday's game against Cleveland.

Advice: Kirilloff will move to the bench Saturday as left-hander Logan Allen prepares to start on the mound for the Guardians. Willi Castro will fill the void in left field, batting third. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago
  • Riding pine against lefty
Larnach isn't in the Twins' lineup for Saturday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Larnach will step out of the lineup as the Twins prepare to face southpaw Logan Allen. Ryan Jeffers will move into the DH spot as a result, allowing Christian Vazquez to start at catcher while batting ninth. Rotowire.com 10 minutes ago
  • Sitting down versus lefty
Kepler isn't in the Twins' lineup for Saturday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: Left-hander Logan Allen will toe the slab for Cleveland on Saturday, meaning the lefty-hitting Kepler will retreat to the bench. Manuel Margot will take over in right field and bat sixth. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago
  • Resting versus LHP
Julien isn't in the Twins' lineup Saturday versus Cleveland.

Advice: With lefty Logan Allen set to take the mound for the Guardians, Julien and his career .545 OPS against southpaws will stay put in Minnesota's dugout. Kyle Farmer will get the nod to start at second base instead and bat eighth. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago
  • Testing foot Sunday
Walker (foot) will throw a light bullpen session Sunday, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Advice: Walker was forced out of his last start Thursday versus the Mets after taking a comebacker off his left foot. Once he gets a chance to throw off a mound Sunday, the Phillies will make a decision on whether or not the 31-year-old righty will make his next scheduled start -- tentatively scheduled for Wednesday against the Rangers. If the Phillies deem Walker unfit to start, Spencer Turnbull would return to the rotation. Rotowire.com 24 minutes ago
  • Christopher Morel walks off the Cubs on Saturday
Christopher Morel went 1-for-3, driving in the winning run in the Cubs 1-0 win over the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: The Cubs and Pirates were scoreless going into the bottom of the ninth in what turned out to be a pitchers duel. Cody Bellinger reached scoring position with a one-out double off David Bednar. Morel followed with a base hit to walk it off, bringing Bellinger home for the winning run. The 24-year-old slugger is hitting .217/.300/.416 with nine homers, 32 RBI, and four steals across 190 plate appearances. Rotoworld 40 minutes ago
  • Héctor Neris strikes out two, earns win vs. Pirates
Héctor Neris tossed a scoreless inning with two strikeouts to fall in line for the win over the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Neris hasn’t had many clean outings this season. This one came at an opportune time. With the game scoreless into the ninth, he took the mound and struck out two in a perfect inning to send it to the bottom of the frame. The Cubs would walk it off, giving Neris his fourth win of the season to go with six saves. Rotoworld 42 minutes ago
  • Shota Imanaga goes seven scoreless vs. Pirates
Shota Imanaga tossed seven shutout innings with seven strikeouts in a no-decision against the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Imanaga was outstanding once again, scattering four hits and one walk across seven scoreless innings. He did not allow a runner to reach scoring position until the seventh inning. The Pirates would put two runners on with a pair of base hits, but Imanaga would get out of trouble with a strikeout, one of seven on the day. He was saddled with a no-decision as the Cubs were also shut down by Bailey Falter. The 30-year-old left-hander has been perhaps the best starter in baseball so far, posting a 0.84 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and a 58/9 K/BB ratio across 53 2/3 innings. He’ll take on the Cardinals in St. Louis on Friday. Rotoworld 43 minutes ago
  • Bailey Falter holds Cubs scoreless into eighth
Bailey Falter struck out two batters across 7 2/3 scoreless innings in a no-decision against the Cubs on Saturday.

Advice: Falter silenced the Cubs bats into the eighth inning in a pitching showdown against Shota Imanaga. He scattered three hits and two walks, striking out two. The Pirates couldn’t get anything across the board to put Falter in line for a win. The 27-year-old left-hander will take a 3.53 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and a 29/13 K/BB ratio across 51 innings into a matchup against the Braves in Pittsburgh on Friday. Rotoworld 44 minutes ago
