  • Baseball Keeper Rules

*Here are the rules we will be playing with for Keepers. If you don't understand something or have a question or comment, please feel free to message me or make a post about it.

1.) Each manager can keep up to 4 players.

2.) Anyone drafted in Round 1 or Round 2, CANNOT be assigned as a Keeper. This ensures that the draft, (which is arguably the greatest thing about fantasy sports) will always have a great player pool.

3.) There will be a 1 Round Rule in effect. This means, anyone that you decide to keep, it will cost you a Draft Pick, 1 Round higher than the original draft round of that player. For example, if you drafted Gunnar Henderson in the 3rd round and decided to keep him, next year he will count as your 2nd round pick. This also guarantee's everyone will have a 1st round pick in the drafts, being that 1st and 2nd rounders cannot be kept, the highest pick you can lose will be your 2nd. Once a player becomes your 2nd Round Pick, that's what pick he will remain until he is no longer selected as a keeper. This will be the only time a 2nd rounder can be kept, because he would have to be either a keeper from the previous season or a 3rd Round pick from the previous season.

4.) If a player is drafted in the 1st or 2nd round, he cannot be kept, regardless if you trade for him or pick him up off the waiver wire or free agency.

5.) Any player you keep that you signed from Waivers or Free Agency will count as your 14th Round Pick. (Half Your Roster), and go up 1 pick every year accordingly, unless they were drafted in the previous draft, in that case they will count 1 round higher than their draft position, regardless if you are the person that drafted him or not. If you keep more than one free agent, your 2nd free agent would count as your 15th Round Pick, your 3rd free agent as your 16th Round Pick and so on.

6.) If one of your Keepers, one of your Free Agents, or a player you Traded for that you now intend to keep, fall on the same draft pick, one of them will cost you your next Lowest Pick. For example, if you keep a player drafted in the 15th Round last season and you keep a free agent from this season then: One will cost you a 14th Rounder and the other will cost you your 15th Rounder with Drafted players always being the lower pick.

*That's the guidelines we will follow and I hope everyone has fun with it. Good Luck in the Draft!!
