Draft, Keepers, and Draft Funds

The draft is an Auction Draft. Each manager is given $250 to draft with. Each manager may keep up to 4 pitchers, 4 batters and 1 other of your choice. Each Player has a Keeper Dollar Value placed on them. The value is set by Yahoo. Each manager is given $225 to use for their keepers. If a given manager goes over the $225 keeper limit with the keepers they have chosen the overage will be ducted from their draft funds. However, if a manager has any funds left ½ of the excess keeper funds will be added to their draft funds.

The draft order is determined by the record from last year. If you take over a team then the record from the team you took will be used. If you are totally new then you will receive top draft priority.

Please set all keepers correctly by the posted date. All keepers will be forfeited if not set correctly or after the posted date. This happens every year someone picks too many players for keepers and some managers wait until after the posted date. At this time everything is locked and the draft is now set at this point it is too late.

Draft Bonus

Each team received 80 ADD/DROP for the year. Any manager that actually shows up for the draft and drafts his players himself instead of letting the computer will receive 20 bonus ADD/DROPS. This will bring the total to 100 ADD/DROP for the season for that manager’s team.

Pre-Draft Trade

What is a pre-Draft Trade? This is a trade made before the draft occurs. This is not a Yahoo feature but something I have added for strategy and to make things more interesting and more fun. The trade has to be declared and accepted by both managers on the message board by the specified date. I have to manually put the traded players on each team according to the posted trade. The advantage to a Pre-Draft trade is it will not count against your 9 keepers or your keeper funds. Example; a player’s keeper cost is $30.00 it will not cost anything. A player may only be traded 1 time. Each manager can Pre-Draft trade up to 3 times but only 1 time with the same manager.

Players, Positions, and Requirements

Each team will have a total of 25 players on it. The positions are C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, RF, UTIL, P, 15@BN, 2@DL and NA. There are minimum requirements for each position. Each manager must have at least 6 active pitchers and 1 active player for each of the following positions every day (C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, RF) at all times. In addition, there must be a total of at least 14 active BATTERS at all times. If any player is on the DL or NA list or any other list that disqualifies a given player from being put into an active line-up this is not considered active. Every day that there is a failure to meet the requirements there will be a penalty. The first 3 occurrences will result in a deduction of 5 ADD/DROPS for each occurrence. The second 3 occurrences will result in a deduction of 10 ADD/DROPS for each occurrence. After 6 occurrences there will be a deduction of 15 ADD/DROP for each occurrence from there on.

Conduct Rules

Collusion- If any managers are caught in collusion their team will be locked for the entire season.

Causing Trouble- You may have some features blocked. Such as the ability to post on the message board and up to having your team locked for the entire season. There are ways to handle complaints. As the Commissioner of the league, I have been chastised for trades and picking up players off of free agency. There have been managers to tried to get the league to rebel and sensor. I have had profane emails sent to me. THIS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. If you do not like how something is done email me respectfully. You do not have to post messages to try to cause discord or an uprising or sent me profanity through email. Communicate respectfully.
