Commish Notes

  • CRASH DAVIS NUKE League

Welcome to our 1st year as a CASH league with the Crash Davis Nuke League run by Commissioner Baseball Genius (Chris) and Co-Commissioner Baseball Jesus (Nils). You will find that we run this league with high integrity and have tried to think out in detail every aspect of making this league a fun, competitive and challenging experience. We will review league rules, settings, scoring, roster positions etc. every year and are open to suggestions from League Members. Any change made in this league must be agreed on by both of us before any change is made official.

Please read this notice in detail for important information regarding league rules, how draft order is determined etc.

    CASH LEAGUE

This is a cash league with a $25 entry fee. 1st Place - $200, 2nd Place - $75 and 3rd Place $25. Your League fee must be paid by 12 hours before the draft on March 13th or your team will be removed. No exceptions.

    DRAFT ORDER

Since this will be our 1st year converting to a cash league, Yahoo will set the draft order RANDOMLY 30 minutes before the draft. Schedule will be generated RANDOM once we have 12 teams paid and before the draft by clicking generate random schedule once under Yahoo commissioner tools. Draft will be March 13th at 7:30PM CENTRAL TIME.

    FUTURE YEARS DRAFT ORDER

The draft order for the following season is determined by your final result in the current season. To increase competitiveness for teams that may be falling out the playoff hunt to keep an active team throughout the year (and as a consolation for just missing the playoffs) the 7th place team is awarded the 1st pick in the next years draft, 8th place - Pick 2, 9th place Pick 3 and 10th place - Pick 4. For the teams making the playoffs - The first two teams eliminated will receive Pick 5 and Pick 6. Pick 5 will be awarded to the team that wins the next week if they play each other and Pick 6 to the loser. If they do not play each other, the higher seed gets the better pick. For the next 2 teams eliminated from the playoffs they do play each other for 3rd place. The winner will receive Pick 7 and the loser Pick 8. The loser of the Fantasy Championship will receive Pick 9 and the League Champion will receive Pick 10.

    ROSTER POSITIONS

You will have enough room to roster a player for each position and between the UTIL and Bench spots, enough room for a bench player of each position.

    MINIMUM INNINGS PITCHED

We increase the minimum inning pitched from 30 to 35IP. If you do not get 35IP you lose all pitching categories.

    WAIVERS AND FREE AGENTS

Players dropped go through waivers and then become free agents. Free Agent can be picked up and will be available to use the following day. Waiver claims are on a continual rolling list. If you claim someone off waivers, your waiver priority will be 12th following a waiver claim. Following the draft, the team who picks 1st will have a waiver priority of 12th while the team that picks last will start with a waiver priority of 1st.

    SCORING CATEGORIES

We use the Yahoo default scoring setting except we added OBPS (On Base Plus Slugging) for batters. Having an odd number of categories usually results in less ties. We have 6 batting categories and 5 pitching categories. We use H2H scoring format where you earn a win for each category you are winning for the week. If you win every category you would go 11-0 for the week. Whoever has a better win/loss record each week wins.

That about covers all the main pieces of the league setup. If you have any questions, please reach out to me and Good Luck in the upcoming year.
