Fantasy Pro League Rules
1. At the end of the year you will keep 5 players.
2. You will be allowed to keep a player three times. After the third year of keeping them, they would be placed back into the draft. For the 3 season keeper rule. If its year 3 and you know you can't keep the player any more after that season. You can trade him but the team you trade him to can only keep him till the end of that year. He’s essentially a rental player for that season.
3. For keepers that are traded in year one or two, you can keep those players until the end of the 3 year term.
4. Only way a keeper can be kept for a new 3 year period is if they come from the draft, picked up as a free agent or from waivers or if it was a player who wasn’t previously kept. (We keep players for 3 years max to have some turn over of the top players in the league.)
*Keep in mind if you’re the last place team with the first pick in the draft, a strategy would be to not keep your best player and keep 5 others knowing you have the first pick. Because you know you can draft your best player first. So essentially you can have that player for 4 years, that year and you can keep them 3 years more.
5. When trading with draft picks, if you trade one, you have to get one in return.
5B. Starting with the 2021 MLB season. If you are trading away a draft pick from rounds 1-5, you will have to pay the season buyin, in advance for the next season. Trades won’t be processed until money is received. This eliminates managers trading away high draft picks and not returning the following year. This only applies to the team trading away the high draft pick.
6. Minimum innings pitched each week: 30
7. Playoff weeks are Weeks 22, 23 and 24
8. Division Realignment- After each season divisions will be changed based on final standings for non playoff teams and at the end of the fantasy playoffs for playoff teams. Teams will be divided as follows. Division 1 (Ranks 1, 3, 5, 7, 9) Division 2 (Ranks 2, 4, 6, 8, 10). This is done to create new matchups and avoid having all good or all bad teams in same division each year.
9. Draft Order- After each season draft order will be determined based on final standings for non playoff teams and at the end of the fantasy playoffs for playoff teams. Matchups in the consolation playoffs are not used to determine draft order because most of those matchups are not followed by teams because they are out of the main playoffs.
