Welcome to the 2023 edition of Bench Members Baseball. As I have reviewed any notes and comments from last year, there was a request by mm1sub to use holds as a pitching category. I am throwing out an idea, but would like to hear some feedback, because there are so many combinations that could be used for scoring.

I'm thinking that holds could replace saves. There are more pitchers in the holds category than saves, so there would be more pitchersa available for use. For the same reason, I would like to replace steals. There aren't emough base stealers to go around, and I don't like the idea of punting a category. Any suggestions to replace staeals. One where the new category wouldn't be filled with a one category player.

I would also be ok if there were no changes. That is an option. I propose to drop the IL from 3 to 2 spots. It was raised last year with ccovid in mind. I'm sure someone could have had 3 players on IL at the same time, but I don't think the IL position shouold provide 100% coverage to protect every player who gets injured. The benefit of reducing, the IL is to provide more players as free agents or waiver pick ups. Plesase tell me how you would adjust the scoring scheme.
