Commish Notes

  • Important League Dates: 03/16/2023 = All trades must be accepted and agreed upon so that they can be processed prior to March 18th, which is the keeper deadline date. Meaning all keepers must be set by midnight your time on the 18th if you are keeping any players.

Note: If there are no keepers on your team by the deadline, we will assume that you plan to keep none and we will leave your team blank and free to roam the draft from the beginning, most likely by yourself.

Trading close / open: As stated above, trading is available now, but will not be available after the 16th. Trading opens again 1 hour after the completion of the draft ( 03/25/2023).

  • League Rules Update for the old... and Explanation for the newcomers:

    1) Each manager will be allowed to choose up to 8 keepers before the start of the draft, the keepers deadline is set for March the 18th.
1A) You are not obligated to keep any keepers/ You can keep as few as none with a maximum of 8 and have the first 8 rounds of drafting next season potentially to yourself

    2) Keepers can be any of the players on your roster before the keeper's deadline, no matter their position

    3) Each manager will be required to set up his/her keepers before the keeper deadline expires, if a manager fails to do so it will be assumed that manager wants no keepers on the team

    4) Keepers will be added at the top of the draft, so that if a manager chooses to have 8 keepers, that manager will actively forfeit the first 8 picks of the draft and start drafting from round 9; if another manager has no keepers, he will start drafting from round 1

    5) trading of draft pick is allowed throughout the season as well as after the season and prior to the keeper deadline the next season
5A) Since the first 8 rounds of the draft are used to assign keepers, it is strictly forbidden to trade picks in those rounds, so any trade including picks from round 1 to 8 will be instantly vetoed

6)There is a 2 day waiting period for trades to be processed: during these 2 days all managers have a chance to protest a trade for being too lopsided
6A) If 8 out of the 14 managers agreed on a trade being too lopsided within the 2 days period, that trade will be vetoed

    7) During the season there will be 3 trading windows:
    - the 1st starts after the finalization of the league and ends 2 days before the keepers deadline
    - the 2nd starts right after the draft and ends 2 days before the start of the fantasy playoffs
    - the 3rd starts right after the end of the fantasy playoffs and lasts 4 weeks
7A) since there is no support from the Yahoo's system for trading during the windows 1 and 3, all trades that are agreed to in those periods will have to be announced by both managers in the league chat and will be finalized by the commissioner according to the 2 days rule

    8) As a result of using keepers, there will never be a random draft again.... The draft will be set every season based on the following criteria:
The First team out of the playoffs will receive the first pick; The second team out of the playoffs will receive the 2nd pick; Followed in inverse order of REGULAR SEASON Standings: So the draft will look like this every season as long as we use keepers:

Pick 1 = 9th place finisher in regular season
Pick 2 = 10 place finisher in regular season
Pick 3 = Last place finisher in regular season
Pick 4 = 13th place finisher in regular season
Pick 5 = 12th place finisher in regular season
Pick 6 = 11th place finisher in regular season
(Playoff Qualifiers also select in inverse order of regular season standings)
Pick 7 = 8th place finisher in regular season
Pick 8 = 7th place finisher in regular season
Pick 9 = 6th place finisher in regular season
Pick 10 = 5th place finisher in regular season
Pick 11 = 4th place finisher in regular season
Pick 12 = 3rd place finisher in regular season
Pick 13 = 2nd place finisher in regular season
Pick 14 = 1st place finisher in regular season

Explanation: In this league, we are not rewarding managers for not setting their lineups and finishing in last place. The managers who played the hardest but were not able to reach the playoffs will receive the first 2 picks followed by last to first. As a result, the draft for the upcoming season will be set on the final day of the regular season, not effected by playoff performance. If you win the title from the 8th and final playoff spot, you will not be penalized in the upcoming draft. Your good fortune in the playoffs will not effect your draft position the next season!
