    • Lasts four innings in no-decision
Gallen did not factor into the decision in a win over the Dodgers on Thursday, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks over four innings. He struck out four.

Advice: The Dodgers put Gallen to task early, drawing 85 pitches out of the right-hander over four innings, with all three runs coming against him in his final frame. It marked Gallen's shortest outing of the season outside of his injury-shortened appearance on May 30 against the Mets and he's now allowed three runs in three of his last four starts (excluding May 30). It was also only the third time this season in which Gallen issued three walks. Rotowire.com Today, 7:12 am
    • Unable to hold lead
Bernardino allowed two hits over a third of an inning and was credited with his first blown save in Thursday's 6-5 extra-innings win over the Marlins.

Advice: Bernardino has been exceptional as a high-leverage reliever but was unable to preserve the lead on this day. The left-hander, who entered the game having prevented 15 of 17 inherited runners from scoring, permitted both IRs to score in the bottom of the eighth inning, allowing Miami to tie the game. Bernardino has a 1.17 ERA and 1.17 WHIP over 30.2 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 6:52 am
    • Records seventh save
Beeks picked up the save in a win over the Brewers on Thursday, hurling 1.1 scoreless innings while striking out one.

Advice: Beeks relieved Tyler Kinley with two outs and two on in the eighth and got Garrett Mitchell to go down on strikes to escape the jam. The lefty returned for the ninth and went 1-2-3 through the top of Milwaukee's lineup to secure his seventh save of the season and his first since May 31 against the Dodgers. Beeks has not allowed an earned run in either of his last three appearances, while also posting at least one strikeout in each of those outings. Rotowire.com Today, 6:41 am

    • Completes career-high 5.1 frames
Tyler allowed two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out three batters over 5.1 innings in a no-decision against Boston on Thursday.

Advice: He couldn't come close to matching the dominant performance of opposing starter Nick Pivetta, but Tyler was able to keep the Marlins in the contest and was taken off the hook for a loss after Miami posted an eighth-inning rally. Tyler's 5.1 frames were a career high, and he has now given up two or fewer runs in each of his four appearances this season, though he's totaled just 16 frames over those outings. The right-hander has pitched well enough with a 3.38 overall ERA to remain in Miami's rotation for the time being, though it remains to be seen if he'll stick around once the team's staff starts to get healthy. • Zac Gallen lasts just four innings versus Dodgers
Zac Gallen allowed three runs over four innings Thursday in his start versus the Dodgers.

Advice: The results weren’t great, but Gallen’s velocity tonight was even better in his first start back from the IL; he averaged 95.9 mph on his fastball, up from 95.2 mph last time out and 92.9 mph in the 11 starts before he went on the IL. Because of the diminished velocity, we were a bit down on him before his hamstring injury. He seems like a better bet now, though. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:29 pm
    • Landon Knack gives up three homers in defeat
Landon Knack yielded four runs in 4 1/3 innings Thursday in a loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Knack struck out six and walked just one tonight, but of the 11 balls put in play against him, seven were hit hard and three ended up as homers. It makes him a scarier play in Philly next time out, especially with Kyle Schwarber likely to be back and Bryce Harper also maybe coming off the IL by then. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:28 pm

    • Beeks picks up seventh save Thursday
Jalen Beeks threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings and picked up the save against the Brewers on Thursday.

Advice: It was Beeks’ seventh save of the year. He had blown his last three save opportunities. Beeks’ save was his first save since May 31st. He has a 4.19 ERA on the season. He has five wins and seven saves on the season, but isn’t the most reliable late inning arm in fantasy. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:54 pm

    • Drawing start Friday
Hoeing (hamstring) will be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Friday versus the White Sox, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Hoeing has been used as a starter plenty in the past but has been deployed exclusively in relief in 2024 aside from a one-inning "start" on his rehab assignment. The 27-year-old threw 49 pitches over 2.2 frames in his most recent rehab appearance, so the Miami bullpen will be needed Friday. It's unclear whether the Marlins intend to have Hoeing gradually build up his pitch count in his ensuing starts, or if he'll just be making a spot start Friday before moving to the bullpen. • Bryan Hoeing (hamstring) set to return on Friday
Bryan Hoeing (hamstring) will start on Friday against the White Sox.

Advice: Hoeing will be officially activated from the injured list to take the ball for Friday’s series opener against the White Sox. The 27-year-old righty has been out since early May recovering from a left hamstring strain. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:02 pm
