    • Optioned after spot start
The Mariners optioned Hancock to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.

Advice: Hancock was called up from Tacoma to make a spot start in Saturday's loss to the Blue Jays, giving up two runs on six hits and one walk over four innings. With Bryan Woo (hamstring) set to return from the 15-day injured list week, Hancock is headed back to Tacoma to rejoin its rotation. Rotowire.com Today, 1:15 pm
    • First to 20-20 mark
Ohtani went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases in a loss to the Brewers on Sunday.

Advice: Ohtani made the most of his lone hit, swiping both second and third base after singling in the third inning. The latter theft gave the slugger 20 steals on the campaign, and with 28 long balls, he is the league's first player to reach the 20-20 mark this season. This is the third time over the past four campaigns that Ohtani has achieved the feat. Rotowire.com Today, 12:34 pm

    • Works in long relief Thursday
Kuhl tossed 4.1 innings out of the bullpen in Thursday's 8-4 loss to the Guardians, striking out one batter while giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits and four walks.

Advice: In his previous appearance June 27, Kuhl made his first start of the season with the White Sox, working three scoreless innings in a no-decision against Atlanta. Kuhl was merely getting a spot start amid a busy portion of the White Sox's schedule, as he returned to a mop-up role out of the bullpen a week later. With the Chicago rotation at full strength with the exception of Mike Clevinger (elbow) -- who appears close to a return from the injured list -- Kuhl isn't expected to get any chances to start again in the near future. • Collects 10th win
Keller (10-5) earned the win Monday, allowing two runs on seven hits and no walks over eight innings against the Mets. He struck out six.

Advice: The 28-year-old cruised to his second straight season with double-digit wins, allowing just one extra-base hit -- a two-run Brandon Nimmo homer in the sixth. Keller has been reliable since June 1, pitching to a 3.09 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 44:8 K:BB over 43.2 innings across seven starts. The Pirates right-hander is scheduled to make his last outing of the first half against the White Sox in Chicago this weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 12:22 pm

    • Yields two runs in no-decision
Scott did not factor into the decision in Monday's 8-2 loss to Pittsburgh, allowing two runs on one hit and one walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out three.

Advice: The rookie right-hander held the Pirates in check, with both runs scoring on a 431-foot homer by Oneil Cruz in the fourth inning. With this effort, Scott lowered his season ERA to 4.15 across 39 innings, but he's struggled to generate punchouts, fanning 30 for a 6.9 K/9. The 25-year-old is currently slated to make his next start against Colorado at home this weekend. However, Scott may lose his rotation spot after the All-Star break, as Kodai Senga (shoulder) is scheduled for rehab start at Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday, lining up the Japanese right-hander to join the Mets soon. • Joan Adon gets yet another shot with Nationals
Nationals recalled RHP Joan Adon from Triple-A Rochester

Advice: Adon will take DJ Herz’s spot on the active roster, but it seems as though he will be pitching out of the bullpen for now. “The bullpen’s been worked a lot, as we know,” said Nationals manager Davey Martinez said. “It just gives us one more arm in the bullpen for the next five days, until we figure out what we’re going to do next. Hopefully, he can help us out there.” Adon has been mainly a starting pitcher in the minors this season but has also made five appearances out of the bullpen. He also has a 5.55 ERA in 60 innings at Triple-A this season and is off all fantasy radars. Rotoworld Today, 11:38 am

    • Nationals send DJ Herz back to minors
Nationals optioned LHP DJ Herz to Triple-A Rochester.

Advice: Herz had a rough start in his last game out against the Cardinals and has a 5.17 ERA in seven starts on the year, but the move is surprising because he flashed clear upside with two double-digit strikeout games in those seven starts. With the Nationals not contending this season, it made sense for them to see what they have in Herz and have him adjust to major league hitting, but it seems the team is worried about his workload. “I only threw 112 innings last year, so I need a little rest,” Herz said. “That’s kind of what they told me. Just take some time to get some rest, and then hopefully we’ll be back up here.” The left-hander should be back at some point in the season, but he can be dropped in almost all redraft leagues until that happens. • Heading back to Triple-A
The Nationals optioned Herz to Triple-A Rochester on Monday.

Advice: Unless the Nationals place another player on the injured list in a corresponding move, Herz won't be eligible to rejoin Washington for another 15 days. Though Herz was tagged for five runs (four earned) in 4.1 innings in his most recent start in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com suggests that the left-hander's demotion likely isn't a result of the Nationals being dissatisfied with his performance. Instead, Washington is likely just giving him some extra rest ahead of the All-Star break, with Herz being a candidate to rejoin the big-league rotation when a fifth starter is needed to begin the second half of the season. Washington recalled right-hander Joan Adon from Triple-A to replace Herz on the 26-man active roster and provide a fresh arm out of the bullpen in the short term. Rotowire.com Today, 10:28 am

    • Joins big-league bullpen
The Nationals recalled Adon from Triple-A Rochester on Monday.

Advice: Adon has made all but two of his 28 career big-league appearances as a starter, but he appears poised to work out of the Washington bullpen after he transitioned to a relief role at Rochester in late June. Over his five relief outings at Triple-A, Adon struck out five while allowing seven baserunners over 5.1 scoreless innings. Rotowire.com Today, 10:23 am
