Jeffers went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, an RBI double, an RBI single and an additional run scored during Thursday's 12-3 win over the Tigers.

Advice: Although Thursday's contest was rained out after seven innings, Jeffers and the Twins' offense had no trouble putting up runs. Jeffers drove in four of those runs, highlighted by a two-run home run off Kenta Maeda in the fourth inning. Jeffers' roundtripper was his 15th of the year which is a career-high tally. The outing was also Jeffers' first multi-hit performance in 11 games and marked his second four-RBI game of 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:10 pm

    • Struggles in Independence Day loss
Stroman (7-4) took the loss against Cincinnati on Thursday, pitching five innings and allowing five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six batters over five innings.

Advice: Stroman struggled to keep the ball in the park Thursday -- of the five hits he allowed, three were long balls, and all five of the runs he yielded came on home runs. The right-hander hadn't been prone to the long ball coming in, as he hadn't given up a homer in three of his prior four stats. Stroman hasn't been pitching particularly well of late, though, as he has a 6.43 ERA across 21 frames covering his past four outings. The five earned runs he allowed against the Reds tied a season-high mark. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:06 pm
    • Brenton Doyle sits Thursday with calf soreness
Brenton Doyle is not in the lineup for Thursday’s contest against the Brewers.

Advice: Doyle is dealing with some relatively minor calf soreness after fouling a ball off it during Wednesday’s loss to the Brewers so he’ll take a seat in the midst of a sizzling-hot stretch at the plate where he’s homered four times over his last seven contests. It’ll be Jake Cave in center field on Thursday evening in his place. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:34 pm

    • Sitting with calf tightness
Doyle isn't in the Rockies' lineup for Thursday's game against the Brewers due to calf tightness, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: Doyle fouled a ball off his calf during Wednesday's loss and will sit out Thursday's game in order to recover. While he rests, Nolan Jones, Jake Cave and Sam Hilliard will start across Colorado's outfield. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:03 pm

    • Rafael Devers walks three times, drives in two
Rafael Devers drove in two runs while walking three times in a victory over the Marlins in extra-innings Thursday.

Advice: Hard to drive in runs without getting a hit, but Devers is capable of doing anything he set his mind to. He drove in both runs on fielder’s choices. All three of the walks were intentional, which is not something you see too often in 2024, or any year really. He’s now hitting .288/.375/.568 on the season with 51 RBI. • Ryan Jeffers goes 3-for-5, homers in rout
Ryan Jeffers went 3-for-5 with a homer, a double and four RBI against the Tigers on Thursday.

Advice: He was also hit by a pitch in the seventh on what proved to be the last play in a rain-shortened game. Jeffers had a great first month and a half, followed by a bad second month and a half; he came into this one batting .157/.252/.269 since May 15. Hopefully, this was the start of him getting untracked and going back to being a viable option in one-catcher mixed leagues. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:31 pm

    • Marcus Stroman allows three homers in loss to Reds
Marcus Stroman gave up five runs while hurling five innings in a loss to the Reds on Thursday.

Advice: The long ball was a problem for Stroman, as he gave up three homers accounting for all five runs. He walked two and struck out six in a start that would have looked fine without the roundtrippers. That’s not how this works, unfortunately. Stroman will take a 3.58 ERA into his final start of the first half against the Rays on Wednesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:10 pm
    • Smacks 14th homer
Reynolds went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Reynolds took Andre Pallante deep on the first pitch of the fourth, providing the only run for the Pirates until the 10th inning. Reynolds has found his power stroke of late, with six of his 14 home runs this season coming over his last 18 games. He's carried a hot bat since the beginning of June, slashing .319/.372/.588 with seven homers and 18 RBI over his last 29 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:43 pm

    • Bryan Reynolds swats solo homer in extra-inning loss
Bryan Reynolds homered in an extra-inning loss to the Cardinals on Thursday.

Advice: Reynolds swatted a solo homer off Andre Pallante to tie the game at 1-1 in the fourth inning. The outfielder has homered 14 times while driving in 48 runs thus far in 2023. It was the only hit of the game for Reynolds, but his .273/.338/.466 slash is solid, and he was much better than that in June with a .330/.388/.504 slash in that month. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:32 pm
